Kail was born into the Great House of Ledaal.  His early childhood was filled with all the intrigue and turmoil that comes from being a cousin of the main line of inheritors.  Ledaal Kail had the privilege of being able to travel with his parents who were House Ledaal's threshold emissaries.  One day, in a village half a days ride from Thorns (this was 7 years before its fall) there was a bandit raid on the town that Frost and his family were passing through.  The guards that were accompanying us were dispatched to deal with the problem.  Normally they would have been enough to deal with the problem, but leading the bandits were four Outcast Dragon Blooded.  My parents left the carriage to reinforce the guards.  I cowered in the carriage, afraid to even look out.  Unknown to my parents, a fifth dragon blooded approached the carriage from behind.  He burst in, and seeing nothing of value, he snatched me up.  When he pulled me into the sun I was filled with the power of the Unconquered Sun.  Soon after my mother returned and saw me covered in blood.  with tears in her eyes, she pressed the hearthstone Wit's Edge (+1 to Wits) into my hands and whispered, "Fly far, Kail."

Frost had a bad run in with a third circle demon, Everlasting Flame of Unrelenting Torment.  To be honest, Frost was a prisoner for three years.  During that time he endured many horrors and found out exactly why the demon was called Everlasting Flame of Unrelenting Torment.  It turns out that this demon is capable of producing a magical flame that can literally burn injuries off a body, but as it does, you feel all the pain of being on fire.  Eventually his will was broken and he was made to produce soldiers with Imbue Amalagam.  This didn't spare him the torture, however.
