THE MIRROR GRACE: Sudamo, the Mirror Grace, is a strange Shinma, one that reflects and looks out upon the Wyld. It sees what is before it, and reflects the actions of those who seek to tame it back tenfold. The Mirror Grace turns the strengths of the Shinma against itself, and is used to understand and undermine the power of any person. The Mirror Grace is based upon Temperance, as it defines the world, and is undermined by the lies placed in front of the true self by Conviction.

MIRROR SHAPING: Mirror Shaping functions by shifting one's perceptions of the world, turning a person's attempts back on them. It is a modification to other forms of combat, most often Ring and Staff, and, like other minor Graces, is not a type of Shaping Combat unto itself. Mirror shaping uses Perception for its damage rolls, Manipulation for attack and defense rolls, and Dexterity for its soak. If it were to become a Caste for whatever reason, Mirror Shaping would favour Awareness, Crafts, Dodge, Lore, and Socialize. (Note: If Mirror replaced Ring on the four Virtues, the Diplomats would lose Socialize and gain Buerocracy, and Endurance and Martial Arts would become Casteless Abilities.)

The Curse of Confusion: Raksha who lose their Mirror Grace, for any reason, find their souls damaged by its loss, and suffer the Curse of Confusion. Understanding of their relation to others and the connection between things grows dark and shadowed, like a fractured glass. This increases the difficulty of all Perception and Manipulation rolls by 2, including shaping actions.

Forging the Mirror Grace

Cost: 10 motes, 1 gossamer
Duration: Instant
Type: Simple
Min. Ring: 0
Min. Essence: 1
Prerequisites: Forging the Heart Grace

Crafting the Mirror Grace for a consenting creature, the raksha teaches the target to embody Sudamo. This Charm consumes a supply of gossamer and creates an artifact. This artifact has the normal qualities of a finely crafted weapon, suit of armour, or tool, in addition to its qualities as a Grace. It creates a Mirror trait for the creature and allows them to work Mirror Shaping.

Raksha and other Essence users can attune to a character's Mirror Grace. This requires six scenes of handling and a 1-mote commitment, which erases any previous raksha's attunement. Characters attuned to a creature's Mirror Grace can reflexively strip away the character's connection to Sudamo, lowering their Mirror to 0. This inflicts the Curse of Confusion (see above).

Sudamo is a being of understanding. With a successful Perception + Mirror roll at a difficulty of the target's Conviction, raksha with a Mirror Grace can see into the soul of an individual; extra successes are spent as follows: One success can learn the individual's attributes, two can learn their Abilities, two more can learn their Virtues, two can learn their Willpower and Essence, and three can learn their Charms. This power may only be used on an individual once per story, and costs one Willpower.

<b>Better Than You Prana

Cost: Varies
Duration: One Scene
Type: Reflexive
Min. Mirror: 2
Min. Essence: 2
Prerequisites: Forging the Mirror Grace

Effect: The character contests with one target, making herself stronger. The character chooses a single Attribute and a single Ability, which should relate, and pays a number of motes equal to the difference between his Attribute and Ability and the target. For the duration of the scene, the character's Attribute and Ability become the same as the target's. This applies to both shaping and normal actions. This Charm may be comboed with Charms of any Virtue, despite its non-instant duration.

<b>Truth In The Reflection

Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Min. Mirror: 3
Min. Essence: 2
Prerequisites: Forging the Mirror Grace

Effect: The world is full of reflections; someone who sees these reflections can take action quickly and powerfully, preparing themselves for battles before they occur. This Charm may be activated whenever the character becomes the target of a shaping action about which she is not aware. Roll Mirror + Awareness, with a difficulty equal to the target's Essence. If successful, the character is aware of the attack and may defend or use counter-attack shapings normally.

Essence Mirror Approach

Cost: 3 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Min. Mirror: 3
Min. Essence: 3
Prerequisites: Better Than You Prana

Effect: Anything that targets the character can be turned back upon its user. With this Charm, the character twists the fabric of reality. Any one shaping action that is targeted against the character by another character affects the Charm user equally; if it is an attack, each character may parry or dodge the attack normally (each character's parry or dodge affects only the attack against them, not the attack against the other raksha). All secondary effects of the action apply normally to both characters, as do all Charms used on it; all effects that boost the action do so normally, and need not be payed for twice.

Mirror Gallery Approach

Cost: 4 motes, 1 Willpower
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Min. Mirror: 4
Min. Essence: 2
Prerequisites: Truth In The Reflections, Better Than You Prana

Effect: When a true user of the Mirror strikes, their foe sees only endless reflections of the attack. This Charm may be attached to a Ring- or Staff- shaping attack. When used, the world fills with false reflections of a true attack; decoys lurk in every shadow, and the enemy cannot properly defend against it. The target of Mirror Gallery Approach takes a die penalty equal to the Charm user's Mirror + Essence on all dodges and parries against this attack. This Charm may be comboed with Staff or Ring Charms (but not both at once).

<b>Shallow Reflection

Cost: 3 motes, 1 Willpower, 1 Gossamer
Duration: One Scene
Type: Reflexive
Min. Mirror: 4
Min. Essence: 3
Prerequisites: Better Than You Prana

Effect: The character pulls on the weaves of a character's supposed strength, revealing it to be a hollow lie that is only visible on the surface. Roll Mirror + Lore, with a difficulty equal to the target's Conviction. Every two successes reduces the target's maximum rating in all Abilities by one for the duration of the Scene; any extra dots of Abilities are lost. This Charm may only be used once per scene, and if multiple Raksha target the same being with it, only the best result is applied. This Charm is a work of Glamour, and can be used in Creation; it cannot target a character whose Conviction + Essence is greater than the user's Manipulation.

<b>Essence Inversion Principles

Cost: 6 motes, 1 Willpower, 3 Gossamer
Duration: One Story
Type: Simple
Min. Mirror: 5
Min. Essence: 3
Prerequisites: Mirror Gallery Approach, Shallow Reflection

Effect: The character levels her weakness, using it as a weapon against their foe. Target any character within three waypoints, choose one Attribute and two related Abilities, and roll Mirror + Socialize at a difficulty of the target's Essence. If the roll succeeds, the target's score in that Attribute and those Abilities are reduced to those of the character for the duration of the story, and the character's score in that Attribute and those Abilities is increased to what the target's used to be. This Charm may be used in Creation against the Creation-born. It is a work of Glamour and cannot affect targets whose Conviction + Essence is higher than the character's Manipulation.
