Deis hmms a bit. "Well...what is it you wish to know, Miss Rio?"

<Rio> Oh, where you come from, what you do, how'd you get here... that kinda stuff.

<Deis> Well...before I got dragged here by Chisana and her sister, I lived alone in the Rathess wilds... I occasionally was asked to be a guide for people wanting passage through, or just to explore it...

<Rio> ... whoa, how'd you end up living alone there?

Deis looks away, sighing a bit. "I'd rather not say, Miss Rio."

Rio raises her hands. "Fair enough... so how'd you end getting dragged here?"

Deis smiles a bit "I was kidnapped."

Rio blinks. "... kidnapped?"

Deis shakes his head. "Miss Chisana and her sister felt I needed to see something other than the trees of my home, so they dragged me here while they shopped or whatever it is women do in a town."

Rio giggles. "I see... so where are they now?"
 +

 +
Deis hmms "Well... last I saw of them, Chisana was heading deeper into the town for more supplies to take back home... which means shoes, or clothing I suppose."

Rio nods a bit. "... and what do you think... will you be heading back with them?"

Deis stands up, stretching a bit, looking thoughtful for a moment. "I honestly don't know yet Miss Rio... I've seen a lot of interesting things away from Rathess... but I don't want to leave my home for too long. Father would be displeased."

<Rio> ... are you sure of that?

Deis blushes again, realizing for the first time that... well, he's barely chest-height to Rio. "I... am unsure. Well, I mean... I don't know what I'll do once it's time to go back... maybe I'll just escort the two back and keep on with you and your friends... I don't know."

The meeting done and things somewhat... more sane, things have calmed enough that people can go about to handle whatever business it is they need to be doing. The Scalded Dog itself has normal customers again, and there're no big, sweaty Guild gunmen looking both bored and menacing. Instead... there's a certain young man from the woods... and a small cup of cooked shrimp.

Deis is looking over said cup of shrimp, warily poking at it with a fork, occasionally smiling at the tavern wench as she walks by, checking on him. "I... still do not see how you can eat these..."

"Well, it's actually pretty simple. Grab them by the tail, and bite!" As if to demonstrate, a tall woman nabs a shrimp from Deis' cup and munches on it.

Deis gasps a little, looking up at Rio. "Miss Rio... I didn't notice you there." He wrinkles his nose a bit then slides the cup to her. "I... don't think I'll be able to finish these..."

Rio chuckles, slips around and sits down close to Deis, smiling. "Ah, well, I suppose it's an adquired taste... a few years at sea, and you'll eat anything to forget the bisquits anyway."

Deis nods, laughing quietly. "I actually like the bisquits, it's just these odd bug thingies that disturb me..."

<Rio> Bug? I wouldn't call them that, really...

Rio grins at Deis. "Anyway, we haven't had a good chance to actually talk, you know... you are pretty quiet."

Deis nods slowly. "I'm really very sorry if I seem... what is the word Chisana calls it... a prude. It's just, well.." He pokes his fingers together for a moment and blushes. "I'm a bit shy."

<Rio> Yeah! Shy's the word I'm looking for.
