'''Gennadi: ''' "It's the out of the BLUE part." He smiles, not quite so perfect and shining as usual. "Essence helps, too." '''Gennadi: ''' "I'm glad someone appreciates them. Ah, wonderful! I suppose you're saved from me nibbling on you all night." He manages to keep a straight face as he looks at the basket. "Nice outfit, by the way. I can't imagine where you'd have had the time to find that."

'''Millia: ''' "The Palace was a royal gathering place, there are clothes for royal escorts and servants like me." She nods. "And I have the normal measures. '''Gennadi: ''' "Why wouldn't I, if you'd enjoy it? Besides, a certain amount of nibbling is allowed a gentleman, it's just that a few places are forbidden." The smile returns. "You've put some real thought into this. Hopefully I can live up to the expectations."

 +
'''Millia: ''' "I do hope!" She says, red eyes shining just a bit... her black eyes enigmatic as always. Like two different Millias, each with a different view of the situatioon... "I am leaving for the Great Forks in two days. When everyone leaves with the Zephyr."
 +

 +
'''Gennadi: ''' "Ah, yes... Everyone seems to be splitting up just after we all agreed to work together." He chuckles. "It's always like that. I think you'll enjoy Great Forks, though. It has lots of ways to distract you from any troubles."
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' "So I heard. I thought I would not miss much here... but there are a few things I will." She says as she reaches inside the basket, picking up a warm bread-like pastry, bringing it to her lips, and taking a snack... "One of them a beautiful azure gentleman who gave me my best sleep in months..."
 +

 +
* Gennadi fishes inside the basket for a drink, pouring her one as well when he finds it. "I'm flattered, and sort of disappointed... you deserve that sort of rest more often." He watches her lips. "You'll simply have to have one more good night before you leave, I suppose."
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' She picks a cup, moving it a little on her hand... "And what do we have here?" She brings closer to her lips, taking in the scent... and smiling at him coyly. "I was hoping for that. Another night of azure dreams... hopefully not last. If you are all lucky..."
 +

 +
'''Gennadi: ''' He raises an eyebrow. "If I had a middle name, Luck might just be it. Though I confess, I consider it lucky enough simply to be here... What more could I ask for than great company and good food?" He dances back away from the issue of dreams, finding his own pastry to chew on, demonstrating that nibbling he mentioned earlier before taking a proper bite. "I'm certain there will be time for romantic promises at sunrise and lingering joy in warmth as well. And you can trust that prediction."
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' "Luck is your middle name? Gennadi Lucky Bastard Ilkov? Rolls of the tongue well..." The girl says with another giggle, finally sipping some of the wine... she was young, and the alcohol was strong, but she sipped lightly, little bit at a time, and in time, it brought wamrth to her, and color to her cheeks. "That is a nice prediction... and what do you predict for the others? My younger prince, my older prince, the one who healed the little one, all of those around us..."
 +

 +
'''Gennadi: ''' "What I predict and what I expect are not always the same... But they are on the right path, and I suspect things will work out in the end." His fingers brush her cheek as he tucks a bit of hair back behind her ear, a gentle and certainly understandable caress. "Somehow I do not think you want to hear the long stories for other people's happiness tonight."
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' She leans on his caress, his hair seeming to be purity itself under the moonlight. "I guess I don't... but I am curious anyway. And you... I wonder. How did you even get to be what you are?" Her hand lands on his', a circuit of warmth there... holding it in place. "What is it like to see the world through Serenity's lens?"
 +

 +
'''Gennadi: ''' "Beautiful and terrifying, sultry hot and ice cold, painted in stark truths and shaded with visions of what should be. One day, perhaps, I can show you... but not tonight." He smiles. "As for how I got like this... let's just say it took a lot of work, and a lot of training. I'd hardly recognize myself of years ago."
 +

 +
"Though it's hard to believe, I was once a fumble-fingered youth sneaking peeks through the window at girls undressing and getting chased by their fathers."
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' Her own hand moves to his face... her lithe fingers touching his lips. "I can believe it so easily."
 +

 +
"You ''have'' come a long way, but you do look like a former hellion.... and I'm glad I didn't meet you then. I'd clobber you to death." She nods, nuzzling his hand... "Where was that?"
 +

 +
'''Gennadi: ''' "I ran and swam fast." He grins, lightly kissing a fingertip after each sentence. "The West. A fairly large archipelago. I didn't travel too much, because I never liked ships. You can imagine how helpful that was."
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' She giggles, softly, the cadence changing with every finger kissed, as if Gennadi was playing a flute, each kiss opening or close one of its holes... "My, my, my... must've been just like a northern nudist. Never leaving the warmth of the hearth... but I guess that also got you alone with the girls when all the men and Tia took to the sea, right?" Her eyes glint as if to say ''yes, I know what they are! ''
 +

 +
'''Gennadi: ''' "For a time. Then they figured that out and started dragging me along anyway." He sighs, "I was young, and hadn't gotten properly sneaky yet."
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' "They were smart!" She takes a chiding tone, tapping her serenity-kissed fingers on his chin...
 +

 +
.. before stopping with a wink "And then, you became a Chosen of Serenity and did it anyway?"
 +

 +
'''Gennadi: ''' "No. I became a Chosen of Serenity and never went back." He shrugs. "They probably use me as an example of a bad child now. Don't do like this one boy did or the Fae will get you! Of course, I have more choices of women to spend time with."
 +
 +
'''Millia: ''' "Poor, poor boys. Deceived by the evil faerie tales!" She smiles, then shakes her head, specially at the mention of women, "Better too, I imagine! Though the image of Tias and Pirates is very... romantic. I remember reading the novels and dreaming of being rescued from pirates by a dashing ship captain... well, I was a captain once or twice, but... I tend to prefer to care for things. Which is why I ended up with Cedric..."
 +

 +
'''Gennadi: ''' "And captains don't care for their ship and crew? I should think you have room enough in your heart for more than one small boy."
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' "But they set the direction. I prefer to care for it." She nods. "It is entirely too much work already..."
 +

 +
"Too many threats. The captain's the one that brings even more for people like me to fend off."
 +

 +
* Gennadi chuckles. "Ah, practicality and dreams rarely mix. But when they do it's wonderful. What do you think you'll do when Cedric is grown?"
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' "Serve him, pehaps... or do the same with Alexander's or Elizabeth's children... pehaps be a Handmaiden... at most a bodyguard. Must seem strange, that I do not desire to become a princess or a warrior queen, right? I... think of those things sometimes, but although they give me a thrill...." She trails off, looking at the stars... picking a cookie from the basket without looking, and bringing it to her lips with a crunch.
 +

 +
'''Gennadi: ''' "The princess, perhaps. I find it difficult to imagine you as a warrior queen, I must confess." He slips easily to her side, looking up at the stars himself. "Then again, the ways of fate can be strange indeed... the future is fascinating, even when one is confronted with the physicality of the here and now. I guess that's why we enjoy it so much."
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' "And you? She asks, still looking up as if she saw him in the stars. "I am a poor bastard girl who likes safety, to languish on and bring to others... but what about you? What do you imagine yourself to be... when all this is over?"
 +

 +
'''Gennadi: ''' "With any luck? Happy." Once again he uses martial skills in the service of Serenity, how he first left heaven and now his reason for returning. His foot lightly taps the back of hers as he turns, bending her backwards and supporting her. One moment, so she has time to realize what's going on, another so she has time to anticipate, but not react quite yet, and his lips are on hers.
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' And then, she is in the air. That is how it feels, that she is suddenly in the clouds, and everything around her is made of cotton candy. She is held by him, and he is the only solid thing there is in those cold skies... before his kiss touches her like a burning star. Happilly, her lips react, her arms touching him, needing to feel more solid things.... and as the kiss breaks, she feels like she has just been refreshed. "... and don't we all..."
 +

 +
* Gennadi manages to keep his grin in check, as it's rare for someone to be so openly happy about a simple kiss in his line of work. His eyes sparkle with starlight, constellations drifting here and there, if not quite matching the ones in the sky. "You seem to still be worrying about everyone else. Am I going to have to kiss you again?"
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' ... but it is of no concern for Millia, since the only sky she is watching is the azure one on his eyes, making out the constellations of his soul... so much she could learn from those eyes, if she knew how to read the signs. So much about love and serenity... serenity that brings a warm smile to her lips. "... I wouldn't object..."
 +

 +
* Gennadi mildly chastises himself for thinking about work at a time like this, his punishment drawng out the next kiss until she is properly breathless. He spins her back up to her feet, tucked against his front with one hand at her hip while the other smooths her hair back from her face again.
 +

 +
'''Millia: ''' She leans into him, nuzzling against the Azure gentleman... "Is this the beggining of my massage tonight...?"
 +

 +
'''Gennadi: ''' "You could say that." His hand trails down across her butt to tuck behind her knee, lifting her up into his arms. Luckily, her heel catches the basket of food and drink, flipping it over once to land perfeclty on her stomach. "But, I think for the rest of the night, you shouldn't worry about saying anything. Just relax and enjoy it, hm?"
 +
 +
'''Millia: ''' "... I will try..."
 +

 +
And she did. She did as they kissed, as he held her close, as he helped her bath, and gave her another massage. In the end, Serenity's kisses spirited her away to enjoy azure-born dreams... with a fulfilled innocent smile on her face.

 +
When she had asked him there, she had wanted one thing. She knew it was the last day she might ever see him... but it was... much more. He touched her so much, and yet, she did not lay with him. There was no sin, only joy. It was a night of relaxing romance.

Player and Protector

Spire... the day before their leave.

The sky is.... somewhat clear. The rarity.

Clad in a dress of azure, Millia leans under the Moonlight in a balcony of clear ice...

Enjoying the cold. Wondering if she would miss it...

And wondering, wondering if Gennadi had received her message... and how long until he showed up.

Gennadi: She doesn't have too long to wonder, her dreamy thoughts cut short by the feeling of a hand on her hip and a body against hers, leaning in to kiss her temple. "Sorry if I'm late. I had other business to attend to..."

Millia: She blinks, dropping into a fighting stance, almost about to push him away... and then she realises who it is "How did you manage to just appear out of the blue like this?!? You scared me!" She says, trying to relax once again... "For the lateness, you are excused."

Gennadi: "It's the out of the BLUE part." He smiles, not quite so perfect and shining as usual. "Essence helps, too." This time, he seems somehow less dangerously perfect, clad in simpler relaxing clothing. The snakeskin shoes are replaced by blue suede, his normal sharply cut suits replaced with a somewhat aged dark velvet one, spattered with small diamonds for stars and relaxingly soft against the skin. "I apologize for the fright, though."

Millia: "Ah yes, silly me, I forget you are a Chosen of her. But, contrary to my first impressions, you do represent all of her facets. Cedric loves you and your tricks, you know!" She says, dancing with him, sweeping in the moonlight and landing on one of the tables on the balcony, over a crystal seat. "Look, I brought the snacks!" She makes a sweeping gesture, pointing at a steaming basket over the table...

Gennadi: "I'm glad someone appreciates them. Ah, wonderful! I suppose you're saved from me nibbling on you all night." He manages to keep a straight face as he looks at the basket. "Nice outfit, by the way. I can't imagine where you'd have had the time to find that."
