− | Time in Yu-Shan
| |
− |
| |
− | While the light and ‘sky’ are reflective of the current positioning of contestants in the Games of Divinity, this would be a capricious and unproductive way to govern time in Yu-Shan. Thus the Bureau of Heaven has established a system for the disposition of a ‘day’ in Yu-Shan. Most divinities refer to a Day based upon this method of measurement as opposed to the more traditional light and dark cycles of the sky. This does mean that the work/play/rest cycles of the city frequently appear mismatched to the mortal visitor, but that is simply one more thing for the sophisticated gods of Yu-Shan to lift their noses and sniff at from their uncouth creation born charges.

− | Each Day in Yu-Shan is composed of 25 hours. Each hour corresponds to one of the Astrological signs of the Zodiac. They ascend in this order: The Captain, The Gull, The Mast, The Messenger, The Ships Wheel, The Ewer, The Lovers, The Musician, The Peacock, The Pillar, The Banner, The Gauntlet, The Quiver, The Shield, The Spear, The Guardians, The Key, The Mask, The Sorcerer, The Treasure Trove, The Corpse, The Crow, The Haywain, The Rising Smoke, and The Sword. Astrological effects used during the appropriate hour may add a single die to any associated rolls. When making prayers to the college of the appropriate astrological sign for the creation of a resplendent destiny or astrological effect during the appropriate time the TN for the effect roll is lowered by 1.

− | Each hour of the day is composed of 60 minutes. Each hour is officially divided into 3 parts, the first 20 minutes being the ascending part of the hour, the middle 20 minutes as the resplendent part, and the last 20 minutes being the descending part of the hour. Most beings don’t use these distinctions, and most residents of Yu-Shan outside of the Bureaus of Heaven or Destiny are unaware of the distinctions. (However almost none will admit this ignorance.) There are no particular advantages or disadvantages to the aspects of the hour. Each minute is a traditional minute, and consists of 20 turns.
