Melee governs the use of weapons designed to be weilded in combat. For the use of improvised weapons, see /Brawl. The melee ability is used whenever a character attacks with a weapon, or defends themself with a weapon.
Characters who are local militia, swordsmiths, gang members, barbarian raiders should consider taking this ability.
It should be noted that in Exalted there are some attacks which can parried, but not dodged, and vise versa. A variety of defenses is encouraged.
