This is a Terrestrial Martial Arts Style updated for the MartialArtsKatas system.

- Abilities required to reach Mastery: War 5, Melee 4, Resistance 4, Lore 3, Awareness 3, Presence 3
Katas
Graceful Tortoise Technique
Cost: 2 Motes Duration: One Scene Type: Simple (Speed 5) Minimum Abilities: Resistance 3 Minimum Essence: 1 Prerequisite: None
By committing 2 motes of Essence to their shield and weapon, the Martial Artist completely negates the shield's Mobility Penalty, and allows their weapon to be wielded one-handed - leaving the shield for active defense. (A shield may be used to parry attacks as a Melee weapon with a Defense equal to twice its DV bonus.)
Speardancer Concentration
Cost: 3 Motes Duration: Instant Type: Supplemental (Combo-Ok) Minimum Abilities: Melee 3 Minimum Essence: 1 Prerequisite: Graceful Tortoise Technique
This Charm reduces the Speed of aa polearm or similar weapon by 1 for a single attack, to a minimum Speed of 4.
Crimson Pentacle Blade Form
Cost: 5 Motes Duration: Instant Type: Supplemental (Combo-Ok) Minimum Abilities: Awareness 3 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite: Speardancer Concentration
While this Form is active, the character may add his Essence in dice to all Brawl, Melee, Thrown or Archery attack rolls.
Eastern Root Protocol
Cost: 5 Motes Duration: One Scene Type: Reflexive (Combo-Ok) Minimum Abilities: War 3 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite: Crimson Pentacle Blade Form
So long as a group of soldiers are all actively using the Crimson Pentacle Blade Form, their entire formation gains a DV bonus equal to the formation's Magnitude. Additionally, a military formation which has trained together in the Crimson Pentacle Blade Style and which collectively know the Eastern Root Protocol Kata may create Combos that rely on Katas interwoven between their members. The effects of the Combo apply equally to all members of the formation who are actively in the Crimson Pentacle Blade Form, even those who do not know the Combo's Charms themselves. These Combos are collectively called 'Five Directions Formation Protocols'.
Northern Lotus Petal Discernment Meditation
Cost: 4 Motes Duration: Instant Type: Supplemental (Combo-Ok) Minimum Abilities: Lore 3 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite: Crimson Pentacle Blade Form
This Kata supplements a single attack, reducing the target's chosen DV against this attack by the Martial Artist's Essence.
Sprinting Stag Defense
Cost: 4 Motes Duration: Instant Type: Reflexive (Combo-Ok) Minimum Abilities: Athletics 3 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite: Northern Lotus Petal Discernment Meditation
So long as the character makes a reflexive Move action each tick, this Kata allows the Martial Artist to add his Athletics score to his Dodge static value before computing his Dodge DV.
Western Shield Crush Counterattack
Cost: 3 Motes Duration: Instant Type: Reflexive (Combo-Ok) Minimum Abilities: Brawl 4 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite: Crimson Pentacle Blade Form
This Kata allows the Martial Artist to perform a Dexterity + Brawl counterattack against an opponent who unsuccessfully attacked him, using his shield. Shields have an Accuracy equal to their Mobility Penalty (so a shield with a Mobility Penalty of 1 would have an Accuracy of -1), and a base damage of (Strength + DV modifier)B.
Blessing of Jeweled Vambraces and Mantle
Cost: 4 Motes, 1 WP Duration: One Scene Type: Simple (Speed 4) Minimum Abilities: Resistance 4 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite: Western Shield Crush Counterattack
This Kata adds the Martial Artist's Essence to his bashing and lethal soak for the remainder of the scene.
Glorious Southern Harbinger of War and Fury
Cost: 6 Motes, 1 WP Duration: One Scene Type: Simple (Speed 5) Minimum Abilities: Presence 3 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite: Crimson Pentacle Blade Form
This Kata allows the Martial Artist to perform a Charisma + Presence or Charisma + War rallying call, with a difficulty equal to the Magnitude of the formation. If successful, the formation's Valor is increased by 1 for the remainder of the scene.
Furious Battle Scythe
Cost: 1 Mote Duration: Instant Type: Reflexive (Combo-Ok) Minimum Abilities: Melee 4 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite: Glorious Southern Harbinger of War and Fury
A character who is already invoking the Glorious Southern Harbinger of War and Fury Kata may activate the Furious Battle Scythe Kata to turn their war-banner into a vicious scythe with Speed 6, Rate 2, Accuracy +0, Defense +0 and Damage +12L. One mote must be spent each time the scythe will be used to attack or parry.
Retribution of Honorable Guardianship Attitude
Cost: 3 Motes, 1 Duration: Instant Type: Reflexive (Combo-Ok) Minimum Abilities: War 4 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite: Crimson Pentacle Blade Form
When invoking this Kata, the Martial Artist becomes rooted to the spot. However, he may reflexively attack anyone within Essence yards who makes a Move or Dash action, or who otherwise attempts to flank him or flee from him. This is a counterattack (step 9) attack against the target's Move, Dash or other action.
Call-to-the-Blade-of-Righteousness Mantra
Cost: 3 Motes, 1 Willpower Duration: One Day Type: Simple (Speed 6) Minimum Abilities: War 5 Minimum Essence: 3 Prerequisite: Retribution of Honorable Guardianship Attitude
The Martial Artists commits 3 motes into his weapon, adding his Essence to its damage rating for the next day, so long as it is used towards a task specified at the moment this Kata is invoked.
Central Pillar Attack Pattern Mastery
Cost: 7 Motes, 1 Willpower Duration: Instant Type: Extra Action Minimum Abilities: War 5 Minimum Essence: 4 Prerequisite: Retribution of Honorable Guardianship Attitude
The Martial Artists may attack each target within (Essence) yards once, with an external penalty equal to the number of targets attacked. Each target's DV is compared to the attacker's successes to determine who is hit by this charm, after which the remaining attack successes are doubled before adding to damage.
