Dirtha Dun
A Warrior-Savant of the Twilight Caste, Dirtha Dun was one of the foremost explorers and wise-women of the First Age. She was possessed of a great body of lore and knowledge of the borders of Creation, most especially the East, and was often consulted by Exalted seeking some manner of wisdom on the edges of Creation. One of the first to seriously considered the threat of the Fair Folk after the defeat of the Primordials, due to her dealings with them, she was fundamental to much of the First Age's lore and defenses against such chaotic threats from beyond.
In the Capital of Meru during the fateful night of the Usurpation, Dirtha Dun was present in the Palace of the Deliberative during the New Years celebration that she had attended so many times previously. Surviving both poison and fell wailing sorcery that killed so many of her fellows, enduring beyond all reason, she stumbled out the front gate. Many other survivors behind her, she was met at the only escape with slaughter. While she tore one Warstrider apart with her bare hands, she perished at the hands of another even as she threw the heavily-armored Terrestrials from her form with sorcery. The resulting explosion of uncontrolled magic harmed her fellows as much as the, better shielded and prepared, attackers.
Note: Dirtha Dun's Godspark is incarnated in the form of Forsath.
Associates of Dirtha Dun
Londor Crane, the Silverbranch\\ Lean and nimble, with a cloak of white feathers and wise all-seeing eyes, Londor was one of the most perceptive Half-Moons of his time and his counsel was often given to his chosen wife and mate before she went on any of her treks into the wilderness. Dirtha Dun kept little other counsel, other than that of her husband, viewing him as among the most wise and having great trust in his perceptive abilities and critical thinking. Younger than his wife and mate by some degree, and paling before her in power, the two remained close due to the Godspark that the Silverbranch carried with him. The compatriot and friend of his mate during the dark days before the First Age, the previous holder of Londor's exaltation had perished in the final days of the war in a bid to protect the Twilight Solar. The spark remained in Lytek's cabinet for nearly a decade, before Londor was chosen, and Dirtha Dun recognized her old friend almost immediately -- forging a friendship, and eventually a love, that lasted until the Usurpation and the death of his mate.
The Silverbranch had not been in Meru, quite on purpose, during the final days. He had seen the Usurpation coming, and even scented it's makers in the air, but in the end he did nothing. Mutely allowing the betrayal to come, the pain he felt deep within his soul was unbearable. Indeed, he could almost feel the death of his wife, the capture of her soul, even from thousands of miles away and the loss shook him greatly. Yet, the days after the Usurpation was hard ones and Londor's tale was not yet over...
Ice-Eyed Harlot\\ One of the Fae Queens from beyond the Edge of Creation, with whom Dirtha Dun corresponded with on occasion and even visited her ever-changing yet strongly cored home on several dozen occasions. One of the Dozen Starlight Princesses, the Ice-Eyed Harlot held within her mind many of the mysteries, lore, and magics of the Wyld -- knowledge that Dirtha Dun deeply craved, and often attempted to obtain by means fair and duplicitious. In time she succeeded in some way, becoming among the Sorcerer's of the Realm most learned in the ways of the Wyld. However, she never truely mastered all of the knowledge that the Ice-Eyed Harlot had to offer and thus always returned. In time, a relationship that began as one scholor's mutual interest in another became something of a friendship.
In the century prior to the Usurpation, Dirtha Dun often came to the lands of the Harlot with a train of mortal servants and bodyguards, even though they could offer her no protection and little service. Twilight and Faerie Queen would set and discuss matters for weeks, and eventually Dirtha Dun would take her leave -- by herself -- back into the lands of creation. Those visits have become sorely missed by the Ice-Eyed Harlot.
