Ragara Xaran has lived on the Blessed Isle his entire life. The son of two patricians in House Ragara, not much expectation was placed upon him, as shamefully neither of his parents Exalted. Together, his family ran a small weapon repair shop for their illustrious House. His father took care of the business end of things, while his mother is an accomplished thaumaturge who applied her skills to making the finest steel available.

His father would often take him along on “supply” missions, to obtain both materials and new business deals. Xaran caught on to exactly what his father was teaching him and how illegal some of these deals were as he entered secondary school. On one such mission, a disgruntled “materials runner” decided he wasn’t receiving enough jade. The man grabbed Xaran from behind and held a knife to his throat. Unfortunately for the smuggler, the blood of the dragons is in Xaran’s blood and instead of drawing blood, the knife chipped on his rocky skin. Xaran spun around and laid the wretch out cold with a quick right hook to the jaw.

He and his father kept a low profile until they returned home and spoke with great, great-uncle Banoba. Seeing that Xaran already had some skill with thaumataurgy, Banoba decreed that Xaran would attend the Heptagram as a honored son of House Ragara.

Although Xaran caught on quickly to sorcery during his years at the Heptagram, he was dissatisfied. Archaic lore about demons might be interesting, but it hardly helped a sorcerer make a fine living in the real world! Thus he spent his time learning spells to help his craft. After graduating with quiet dignity, he was pleased to receive from his house both a few small artifacts and reagents for use in his craft. Banoba had forseen the coming time of strife, and decreed that the “family of the imperial bank” needed to make connections in areas outside of banking. With this open-worded proclamation, Xaran took over his parents’ business and extended their network of contacts. With his new automatons to run the forges and sorcery to make quality arms, business is booming!
