History
I am not a storyteller, but I suppose I shall do my best. I am a barbarian from the Icewalker tribes in the North, from the Bear tribe, and I was brought to this world over 20 years ago.
Life is not easy in the north, and this is something that is taught to us from the very beginning. Barbarians hunt for food, gather what we can when the trees bloom... and when none of these options are available to us, we raid close towns. I don't care what you think about it, this is our way of life.
I have... always possessed a fierce temper, even when I was a child. Personally, I blame this on me being so... small... when I was a kid. Even younger kids could look down at me. Oh, things are very different now, but back -then-... well, it angered me.
I decided I wanted to be as good a warrior as any of those fools that felt so proud of their strength and size, so I trained rather hard. I trained twice as hard as any of they did... which is why, in the end, I could knock down any of them as well as a few adults off their feet; served them right.
Exaltation
As I grew up (and, as you can see, I grew up quite a bit), I participated in hunts with others. One day, we tracked down a huge yeddim, separated from his herd, and we weren't expecting trouble... at least, until that monstrosity ripped our prey apart and attacked us.
What was it? I cannot say. I fear it may have been a thing of the Wyld now. Our hunting party was of maybe 10 strong... half of them had fallen on the first few seconds. Of course, we fought! Such a thing, if allowed to live, would end up causing havoc in our home, and it was our duty to destroy it.
As I fought, I found my strength increasing with each blow, my axe getting lighter and easier to use... I was so focused on the battle I barely noticed. Finally, I cleaved straight through its neck! As I stood on the beast’s corpse, proud in my victory, I finally noticed the stares of my companions; they seemed somewhere between in awe and dread. Finally, I noticed that I was glowing.
Thinking I surely must have been possessed, I... panicked, and fled.
on Lunars
It took some time for me to calm down. The glow vanished... eventually. I finally decided to head back home. However, as I reached my village, a man stood in front of me.
I remembered seeing him before... my family had told me who he was. They said he was a god who protected our village, and who could take the form of a bear.
He told me that I should leave and not come back... I demanded to know if he knew what had happened to me. He called me a Solar then, he seemed... concerned, and somewhat sad.
Not that I took this laying down... I challenged him to a fight there and then.
I lot pretty badly. He broke my axe with his own hands. His strength was something I had never seen. He told me then... that if I ever wanted to return home, I would have to be strong enough to defeat him... and he let me go.
I knew more things about him now... for starters, he's plenty older and more experienced than me. However... I am a Solar, and as one, I'm sure I will surpass him. I actually don't care much for returning home now... I just want to beat him!
on Solars
After I left my home behind, I eventually bumped into Rio while we both were hunting... literally, really. A fight almost broke out between us... at least, until I revealed my anima without meaning to, and she recognized my caste mark. She chose to explain a few things to me then... like how to control my Essence better.
We separated shortly after, but we have joined back since then... along with 3 others, forming a perfect circle.
Rio is our Zenith. She's... too idealistic, I think; but she's an incredible fighter and an incredibly strong and tough woman for a civilized woman. I insist that her promise will lead to her eventual doom, but she's not one to listen... I don't know how she managed to talk me into a similar problem. Still, she and I may fight each other, but we both understand that we must support each other. She's a woman of her word, and I'm glad to call her my friend. Now, if she would stop -hitting- on me... I swear...
young Silent Light is our Night. As I understand, she's not a very good one... I'll confess I felt sorry for the small, mute girl when I first saw her. However, Silent Light has many skills we all lack, and she's hard working. Maybe -too- hard working... she insists in doing duties than only a servant or a slave should, and she's neither of those anymore. She's also completely in love with Dragon-blooded, and that is something I'll never understand.
Tal'na is the Eclipse. We don't understand each other very well, unfortunately. She cares about many things I simply do not. Now, she -does- have a powerful weapon with her, and she has lots of lore from all over the world, so she's useful. Her ability to interact peacefully with fair folk and other creatures is a bonus.
... and the Twilight... sigh. Cynis Byanka. Let's just leave it in that we don't like each other, right?
Other Solars...? Well, I've heard about the Bull, but I don't think there's a soul that hasn't. I'm worried that he might be leading the barbarian nation in ways he shouldn't, unfortunately.
on The Realm
I don't dislike Byanka personally, but she's somebody I saw for the longest time as the enemy. Besides, she's a -dynast-... nothing good can come from that.
The Realm has made its people weak and complacent. In this era, that people won't survive for long, while the stronger barbarians will continue on, as always. No, I am not fond of the Realm or its Dragon-Blooded, and I don't understand Silent Light's feelings for them.
It will fall, this is inevitable. While I wouldn't mind -helping- this happen, Rio seems to have another idea. She knows the Realm will fall eventually... and she wants to help the people that will be affected with it. Personally, I'd only be willing to save the children and mothers-to-be... those that have not yet the chance to grow truly strong. However, I am not the leader, and I do not pretend to be.
Personality
Nilla is, first of all, a -barbarian-, and as one tends to be bluntly honest and rather brutish in her demeanor. She's stubborn and temperamental, and tends to primarily respect strength.
While Nilla still holds civilization in contempt, she no longer sees people as a whole as worthless... such thoughts have been half talked and half beaten out of her by Rio.
Still, Nilla is highly honorable, and will hold her word through hell and high water. Her promise to Rio about not killing every enemy they run across annoys her, but she has plainly said that she -will- kill those she deems dangerous, and Rio couldn't say no.
She has also promised to not set foot in the South again, unless the situation is extremely dire, and she's hoping to -keep- said promise.
Despite her nature, however, Nilla is extremely protective around her circle mates... even Byanka, because she's sure the others would never forgive her if she let her feelings get in the way of her duty. She's especially overprotective of Silent Light.
Appearance
Nilla is a tall and powerfully built woman. Her hair is blond, just past shoulderlength, and usually incredibly messy. Her eyes are narrow and an emerald green in color.
Nilla favors warm clothing and light armor. She rarely leaves any part of her body exposed... heavy fur boots, thick gloves, a shirt that covers up to her neck... Nilla is deeply aware on how dangerous the cold of the North is, and keeps always ready.
Warm weather and Nilla just don't agree, and during her stay in such places her outfits may vary (usually with fewer clothes). However, she never removes her axe from her back.
Finally, Nilla has a few tattoos in her arms and back. Most of them are just swirling lines and dots meaningless to anybody but another barbarian.

Linguistics: Low Realm, three different northern Barbarian Dialects
Merits:
Large Size (4): While she was rather small as a child, Nilla is now a tall, imposing figure. Life as a barbarian has made her more than a little tough.
Flaws:
Climate Sensitive (2): Nilla has been to the South once and it damn well nearly killed her. She has promised she'll -never- set foot there again unless the situation cannot help it. She tends to get annoyed in tropical weather, but arid deserts are what really kill her.
Barbarian (1): Nilla is an Icewalker, and as a barbarian tends to act much like one would expect, and does not apologize for this.
Greater Curse (2): Nilla is rather unfortunately quite propense to getting violent quickly, as her curse very well shows. She fell to it once already and completely ripped apart a group of soldiers that were waiting in ambush. Her circlemates believed this to be caused by her barbarian heritage.

Artifact: 4
Nilla has with her a rather powerful (and very very large) grimcleaver. In fact, it might be more accurate to call it a Grand Grimcleaver, which is called Thunderbird's Wing. The orihalcum grimcleaver has a massive, jagged head inscribed with symbols all over the place.
This massive Grimcleaver costs 10 motes to attune, and is otherwise unliftable except for the strongest of people (and wielding it is a difficult task at best for said people).
Besides dealing massive damage, the Thunderbird's Wing can be thrown at a distance of 50 feet, and it will then return to its user. When the weapon attacks (either in melee or thrown) it emits a terrifying cry which resembles that of a Thunderbird, and the weapon cackles with electricity. Of course, this means that the weapon is not stealthy at -all-.
Normal mortals that hear the cry of the weapon must succeed a Valor check or be at -1 die at all actions for their next turn. Those who botch this roll will run away as far as possible, or, failing that, will cower on the ground. Otherwise, they may spend a Willpower to resist the effects of the cry.
Thunderbird's Wing Melee: Speed: 0 Accuracy: +4 Damage: +13L Defense: -2
Thunderbird's Wing Thrown: Accuracy: -2 Damage: +10L Rate: 1 Range: 50
Mentor: 3
Clear Sky Thunder is an old Thunderbird who once befriended a Solar, before the Usurpation. Now, the Solar he once called a friend is back, and has even found the weapon that he had given his previous incarnation.
The Thunderbird is, however, still cautious. This new Solar seems to be rather propense at getting angry and is, much to his dismay, a barbarian. He appreciates the rest of her circle as they have taken away some of her nastier habits.
Still, old friendships die hard. While he has yet to reveal himself, Clear Sky Thunder aids Nilla and her Circle how she can... arranging that they miss the nastier storms, for example. In exchange, he tried to lead Nilla and her Circle to things that will further his own agenda.
He has beginning to notice that a Sidereal has taken interest in the group as well, and is trying to contact her. He is not aware that said Sidereal is actually Rio's mother, Luvia.

Nilla has managed to get some money for herself. This is mostly thanks to the rest of her Circle, because she's obviously not sure what to do with it most of the time.
She owns a reinforced buff jacket and a fine horse, which she didn't buy as much as appropriate from an unfortunate soldier. She can take good care of it thanks to her otherwise nomadic lifestyle and the aid of her circle.
Just in case, she carries a dagger and a hatchet with her as well.
