Sootspice's House Rules
Nothing too drastic here, just a couple quick house rules to clean up the odd thing that irks me about the rules.
- Due to the auspicious fortitude of the Exalted, any damage that would kill an un-Incapacitated Exalt instead reduces him to his Incapacitated HL. This is not my idea, and I take no credit for it. I like this mainly because I can beat the asses of the PCs without having to worry about accidentally killing them, or having to fudge the dice to avoid such an event, while still allowing death when necessary/dramatically appropriate.
- Using pretty well all of the Power Combat rules, other than Essence Ping. One of my players seems to want to focus on soak as a defensive option, and I'd hate to neuter that.
- Using Power Combat's hardness rules, but hardness for bare-bones artifact armor from the core book equals half of the armor's lowest soak. I may add hardness to other artifact armors, but that'd be on a case by case basis.
- Crafts and Linguistics work the same way as any other ability, no specialties required, no languages known tracked. I just really don't want to narrow the applicability of these two abilities, especially compared to how broad the other abilities are.
- A couple quick PC weapon stat changes (to make up for a couple insane stats):
- No punches or kicks, simply an unarmed strike that's +0 across the board, doing +0B Damage, with a Rate of 5.
- Clubs/batons do +4B Damage.
- The staff... ugh... +1 Acc and +5B Damage.
