This style was originally designed for a game of Adventure! where the characters went to an ancient Tibetan monastery. It didn't have charms or anything, just some vague principles and some very hairy, very tough martial artists. Now it exists for Exalted, because I reckon in this sort of setting even the frozen Northlands get some kind of martial artists.
Background
The origins of yak style are shrouded in mystery. In such an inhospitable land as the snow-caked wastelands of the far north any number of tiny settlements or temples could go unnoticed for centuries, and this seems to be exactly what the Most Sturdy Residence Of The Yak God has done until very recently. Its new rise to fame - or at least, notoriety - has come from the Solar Exaltation of one of its students. As he wanders the north, honing his martial skills and converting the mortal teachings of his art into essence-based patterns, he also spreads word of the temple and they are slowly but surely growing in popularity as a result. It remains to be seen what the Immaculate Order will make of this small settlement of heretics, but the resulting kung fu action is bound to be impressive.
Weapons and Armor
One of the founding principles of yak style is self reliance and toughness. For a yak style martial artist to enter combat wearing armour is shameful to him and his sifu. As a result, his sifu and/or his fellow students will probably beat the living tar out of him. As a lesson.
Oh, and none of the charms in this tree are compatible with weapons or armour.
Charms
There were some charms here, but I didn't like them so they got yoinked. Yoink!
