Your Style of Martial Arts empathized the use of a weapon not normally used by Martial Artists, drilling competence in it's use in with the katas and meditations. The character thus has a natural affinity between his Martial Arts ability and this weapon, allowing him to use this weapon as if it was a Martial Arts weapon. Note that this merit has no effect on Weapon compatability with Supernatural Martial Arts Styles; it is the equilvalent of having an 'extra' weapon ontop of the normal allotment of Marital Arts weapons (Hook Swords, Wind-Fire Wheels, Seven-Sectional Staffs and so forth.) Any weapon choice taken with this merit must be approved by the Storyteller.
