Er-Lang, Mighty Son of Heaven
The Mighty Son of Heaven stands proud at about four or four and a half feat tall. His skin is burnished bronze and glows with warmth and youthful pride. His hair is tan and shoulder length, falling straight back from his face from behind the rim of the golden diadem infused into his skin. In seemingly deliberate bunches, it curls unnaturally into tight spirals in places along the length. As adorable as any mortal child his age, Er-Lang is clearly anything but. A crest rises from the bridge of his nose and across his brow, splitting into two horn-like growths sticking straight up in front of his diadem. Streaks of gold on his skin, outlining one feature or another on his face, and forming artistic patterns that give rise to the resemblance towards a celestial lion-like face that has been smoothed down to accommodate a human sense of good looks. Snaking out of the small of his back, a sinuous tail tipped by a fanned flare of tan fur slides back and forth against the ground behind him.
Er-Lang prefers most often to wear the full armor and uniform of the Tian-Gou. An elaborate ensemble of bronze, crimson, and gold whose craftsmanship is superb enough to seem to have helped inspire the Thundercloud design of thinking rather than emulate it, it bares the sharp image of a foo-dog upon the breast plate, it’s one bulbous eye formed out of a perfect orb of amber under the wearers breast and the rest of armor styles itself to accentuate the image of a proud dog soldier. Won-Qu and A-Tur ride often in the form of slightly out of place blue and red jade figurines upon the shoulders. Er-Lang keeps it immaculately clean and polished bright. With a complete face mask styled to resemble the fierce grinning face of a shishi, he makes for something of a show to be seen striding down the road in it.

As the anima glow increases, a disk of solid copper manifests upon his back and the glow begins to radiate in streaks that curl like the wind in an eastern water-color. As the banner grows larger, the glow strikes a circular boundary around him and lines of color or clarity shoot through it. Forming into an elaborate ghostly mandala painted primarily in shades of gold and brown, it depicts a lithe and powerful Celestial Lion curled inwardly around the disk as it chases down a criminal under heaven who clings to it’s tail.

Won-Qu and A-Tur
Distant relations to lion-dogs, Won-Qu and A-Tur are a variety of guardian spirit known as foo-dogs or shishi. Where as lion-dogs were assigned as protectors of places sacred to heaven, the shishi once stood as the protectors of pilgrimage roads to these often far-off outposts. In the wake of the Fair Folk invasion after the Contagion however, many sacred places were lost and the need to protect the roads coming to and from them rendered null. Lost and without purpose, many shishi returned to Yu-Shan and joined the other unemployed spirits in eking out an existence in the unfriendly streets. Others still remained upon Creation and sold themselves to mortal kingdoms or terrestrial spirit courts as guardians for their domains.
Won-Qu and A-Tur found a different path. Having traveled together for years after the roads to the temple they once guarded were consumed by the Wyld, the shishi spent much time dejected and unemployed until they arrived at Great Forks. Without much ceremony or hesitation, Irreproachable Strides Heaven quickly took on both foo-dogs as personal servants and assigned them to be guardians and caretakers to his spirit-blooded. Grateful simply to have a place in the world again, Won-Qu and A-Tur are deathly loyal to the celestial lion and adamant about their task to protect Er-Lang.
Ancient spirits, the foo-dogs are considerably more patient and wise than their energetically righteous charge yet abide by his reckless choices as a mater of honor. Won-Qu, the blue-jade shishi, often attempts to council temperance to Er-Lang without much effect. A-Tur, who seems made from red jade, chooses instead to play along laughingly with Er-Lang’s amateur heroics.
