The Dragon's Whisper is a popular destination in Arjuf, and has been for centuries. It was originally constructed on the orders of Cynis Balera, who wished to have the perfect teahouse in which to serve her own perfect blends, and she passed it on to her nephew after her death. He, in turn, passed it to his son, Cynis Gareth, who maintains it to this day.

Perhaps one of the more ridiculous examples of First Age paranoia, there are actually a number of these Manses scattered about hidden places in Creation, although far fewer than there once were. Twenty-five Shelters were crafted, each in a location that his Solar Tower could transport itself to, each identical in appearance.

Under Gareth's able management, the Dragon's Whisper is a place of quiet and repose, where any of the busy power-brokers of Arjuf might come to relax and enjoy a quiet meditation without fear of anything intruding. Attempting to discuss any form of business or to provoke an incident within the teahouse is grounds for immediate expulsion; Gareth has invested a great deal in creating his refuge from the rigors of Dynastic life, and he does not appreciate it when others try to undermine this.

The Teahouse itself is a wooden structure, tucked between a large government building and a small textiles shop. Its unassuming facade bears only a small green sign giving its name, along with a symbolic representation of Sextes Jylis, legs crossed in the lotus position. Within, the teahouse lets dappled light filter through its roof, illuminating the vines that crawl up the support pillars - leaving the bulk of the main room wide open. Cushions and tables are scattered around in a mostly random formation, and the kitchen where the tea itself is brewed is hidden from sight. The hearthstone location itself sits in the centre of the room, five large vines intertwining to form its pedestal.

The False Shelter

Perhaps one of the more ridiculous examples of First Age paranoia, there are actually a number of these Manses scattered about hidden places in Creation, although far fewer than there once were. Originally, each was constructed by a powerful Solar manse-architect, Jacun Vell. Vell created his Shelters as a trap, a carefully-designed and cunning system that was designed to hide the location of his true fortress. Twenty-five Shelters were crafted, each in a location that his Solar Tower could transport itself to, each identical in appearance.

Within the tower, the main floor appears to be a large open area. Above the staircase are words in Old Realm, "Welcome To My Friends". If those words are spoken, the Manse immediately explodes as though a Level 4 Demesne had suffered Power Failure. The rest of the Manse is empty. No more than a handful of Manses still exist, most occupied by squatters who do not speak Old Realm.
