Fair Folk House Rules

The following rules will not notably affect any but a few Fair Folk nobles, but will somewhat restrict the powers of Fair Folk commoners.

1) Fair Folk Commoners lack the strong self-identities that other Fair Folk have. They have a Willpower rating equal to the sum of their highest and lowest Virtues, and may never have Willpower over 6.

2) Fair Folk Commoners lack the ease of Essence-shaping that their masters have. They pay Current Rating x10 to increase their Essence ratings, and must pay 10 XP per Charm. They do not recover XP when they become nobles.

3) Creatures with a low Heart rating cannot reach the pinnacle of Essence. No Fair Folk may have an Essence rating equal to more than double their Heart rating.

4) No Fair Folk may ever have more than (Essence x Willpower) points of gossamer.

Mountain Folk House Rules

Mountain are slightly altered with a modified backstory.

When the jade eggs of the Mountain Folk were formed, there were two sorts; those that had been powerful Unshaped nobles, and those that had been their teeming minions. It is this, and not the Great Geas, that led to the development of the Mountain Folk into Enlightened and Unenlightened Castes, and the locking of these forms into pattens prohibit a Mountain Folk soul from ever changing its position. Because of this, curing the Great Geas would not make all Mountain Folk Enlightened. It would:

1) End Divergence.

2) Allow any Enlightened Mountain Folk who developed a new Charm to teach it to those who did not have Pattern Mastery.

In addition, the following rule applies to Unenlightened Mountain Folk:

1) They pay Current Rating x12 to increase their Essence, and 12 XP per Charm to learn Charms of their Pattern.

Finally, because there has always been a distinction between Enlightened and Unenlightened Mountain Folk, the Artisan Caste was once identical to the other two, and equivalent numbers of Mountain Folk of each Caste were Enlightened. Artisans have gradually altered their society so that no Unenlightened Artisans exist, and few remain who remember that they were possible.
