Eli

As the second son of a Great Forks vintner, Eli often seems a meek reflection of his social stature. He is whimsical and mischevious, yet mostly introverted, and his strong sense of respect for his elders and for the spirits of Great Forks could easily have been mistaken as shyness or submissiveness. His father, raising the children alone after his mother died during Eli's own childbirth, had all but determined Eli's destiny as a bureaucrat in the Great Forks government. Eli appeared the part very well, studious and respectful, quiet and attentive. But all the while, his heart strained to seek a greater destiny, one he felt was impeded by bureaucratical webs and bickering politicians. When he Exalted, he finally got the chance his heart had always sought.

Eli is a mousey young man, with scruffy brown hair, stray locks sometimes falling teasingly about his eyes. His eyes are dark and expressive, a deep chocolate brown and often wide with curiosity. His facial features are narrow and subtle, with his cheeks lightly lined with young stubble occasionally when he gets caught up too much in his interests to remember to shave.

Exaltation has awakened a confidence inside Eli to match his visions for a greater world. His introverted respectfulness has not changed, but where before his stance may have been meek, it is now more driven and intense. Where his words before might have been restrained, now they are only carefully chosen, but powerful when uttered. The awakening of his confidence made his wit and sense of humor more visible, and his charm at times is quite disarming in conversation.

Being the son of a merchant's line, Eli's dress has always leaned more towards practicality than finery, and even more so since he left his home to forge his place in the world. For protection and for the numerous useful pockets that line it, he wears a reinforced, high-collared, buff jacket, slightly worn and roughened by the road. Underneath, to deal with the heat of the sun, he wears a light linen shirt, and canvas pants with soft linen lining. Heavy boots protect his feet during his journeys, and goggles of polarized glass often rest on his head, among the tangle of his hair, used when the day's sun gets too bright. Fingerless gloves are often worn over his narrow-fingered hands, and a seven-section staff is cinched across his body.

Since learning how to summon and bind elementals from his mentor, Weaver of Dreams of Victory, the evidence of his nearby elemental allies often shows in his appearance. He is quite fond of his current elemental ally, a proud zephyr named Bright Window of the Sky, and her nearby presence is often reflected in a constant breeze around Eli, fluttering his hair and the edges of his jacket, and kicking up the dirt around him.
