|text=This artefact consist of a [[Soulsteel]] plate of 24 inches in diameter and 1 inc deep, and a small belt pouch made of cursed skin ripped from the scalp of several Exalted. Inside the belt pouch a number of 4 inches long obsidian spikes (the attuned essence x 3) will materialise as the items are attuned.<br>
The plate will also fill with a white powder that stays on the plate and will never fall of as long as it is attuned.<br>
When activated for 1 mote as a reflexive action, the dust will rise and form into a 3 dimensional representation of the terrain and buildings horizontally around the user out to 240 yards. By placing the obsidian spikes on the plate, a corresponding pillar of black jade will plummet down from the sky and hit the ground marked on the plate.<br>
If the item is used under ground or inside building the pillars fall down from the ceiling but deal half normal damage, also the dust will show the occupied and surrounding rooms out to the 240 yards.

The spike on the plate will move so its location on the plate exactly matches that of the corresponding pillar. Should a spike move of the plate or be picked up again, the corresponding pillar will crumble into black sand and be blown away by a chilly moaning wind. 1 tick after the pillars have struck they open up like flowers and a black inky humanoid emerges. When this shade dies it turns into black sand. If the Shade is killed and the pillar is still standing the user can spend 5 motes to materialise the shade again. Pillars have 20 health levels and a soak of 5A/10B/10L and a shade has the stats shown further down the page.

This artefact requires a perception and intelligence rating of 3 to figure out where to place the spikes to aim the pillars. Also the user must be a creature of Darkness, and add the bone dust of 10 cursed or blessed humans (resource 3 purchase) to the plate every 5 days for it to work. If this upkeep isn't maintained the disc will simple not fill with the white dust.
