Lunar Transformation

Shaping the Ideal Form
Cost: 6 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Appearance: 3
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Silver-Soul's Appearance.
This Charm allows the Lunar to make cosmetic changes to the appearance of any of his Forms. Such modifications include changing height, weight, hair, eye or skin color, lenghtening or shortening hair length, reshaping a chin or nose, changing the teeth. Tatoos, marks and scars can be made to disappear. The Lunar can even fake bleeding, pregnancy or other such conditions.

The Lunar needs to make this shaping again in each of his Forms. This Charm gives the Lunar a bonus of his Permanent Essence in dice to disguise attempts, and with the right acumen (usually an Intelligence + Socialize roll), those dice may also be added to certain Presence, Performance or Larceny rolls, as the shape is changed for a certain type of social situation. Those do not count as Charm dice. To gain those dice, the Lunar must spend a number of hours equal to (10 - his Intelligence) crafting those changes, and suceed on an Apperance+Craft(Shapechange) whose difficulty varies from 1 to 5, plus the ammount of dice added by the change. No crafting time is required to gain the bonus to disguise attempts, and the ammount of dice added is not counted into the roll's difficulty for this purpose.

Flow Past Restraints
Cost: 6 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Appearance: 3
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Shaping the Ideal Form..
Building upon the fundaments of how to subtly alter her shape, the Lunar learns how to simply make it... flow. For a moment the Lunar's flesh becomes as quicksilver, moving in impossible and pehaps unsettling ways. He can flow out of any restraints, and move in ways she simply should... not. Arms can bend in impossible ways, as can hands, her body bend totally and come back in front. Her form flows, and nothing is impossible. By using this Charm, the Lunar receives a 2-dice specialty to athletics(and intimidation rolls based on appearing unsettling), and can reflexively escape from any sort of cuffs or chains, and slide out of any clinch. This is not a Perfect Effect.

Melting Wax Infiltration
Cost: 4 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: Instant
Type: Simple
Minimum Appearance: 3
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Flow Past Restraints.
A step further from the knowledge of how to properly shape one's form is the ability to simply allow your form to desestabilize in nothing more or less than melted wax. It is something few Lunars manage to make anything short of disturbing: The Lunar's form melts away, going through the smallest holes and coalescing on the other side. This Charm allows the Lunar to squeeze through the smallest openings, getting in places no other could possibly do. It takes a full turn to move the Lunar's Essence in yards through any small opening, and during this proccess, the Lunar may not hold any physical object, take any physical actions, and has no soak whatsoever - his body is like water. However, no single blow may deal more damage than the attacker's Essence - blows simply go through the Lunar in this Form. Despite this Charm's duration, it may last as long as needed to flow through the narrow places and into a place the Lunar can reform into.

Many-Faced Moon Transformation
Cost: 3 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Appearance: 3
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Shaping the Ideal Form.
By means of this Charm, the Lunar changes gender, males becoming females and vice versa, though their personalities, knowledge and traits are unchanged. The Lunar has full use of the new biology, able to sire or bear children as appropriate. Lunars are not considered to have a 'natural' sex - they are considered to be in their true form(or not, if not on a true form!) regardless of gender. A pregnant Lunar may not use this Charm. The Lunar may also shift into a genderless shape, in which the Lunar is immune to any and all seduction attempts.

Form-Stealing Caress
Cost: 6 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: A Lunar Phase
Type: Simple
Minimum Appearance: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Many-Faced Moon Transformation.
The Lunar touches a targets face or hand in a warm caress, feeling its form... and learning all the ways to mimic it, albeit for a short time, as it is a costly knowledge to maintain, a stretch of an impression. Using this Charm, the Lunar may shapeshift into the target she has touched as if she had the target's heart's blood, until the Moon turns and as long as this Charm is mantained. This is in no way different than the usual Lunar shapeshifting.

Contract of Blood and Shape
Cost: 10 motes, 1 willpower, 1 Health Level, 3 Experience Points
Duration: Instant
Type: Simple
Minimum Appearance: 4
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Many-Faced Moon Transformation.
Those the Lunar kills, he takes the shape of. He drinks their Heart's Blood, and absorbs the form of the deceased. However, it is not always like this. Far to the East, the Grandmother Spider Ahrien awaits for Lunar Champions to come, and when they come, she gives them an ordeal. When it is finished, she cuts them, lets them cut her, and as their blood mingles, they become one with her, and receive her Form.

Those who learn this Charm learn the contract - by cutting each other, and willingly joining their blood upon Moonsilver, a being may give his Form to one of the Lunar Exalted. The Lunar is oath-bound to do a task for the being - one that is agreed beforehand, and has to conceivably be accomplished during a Lunar Phase. If the Lunar does so, he receives the being's shape. The being who agreed to give his form to a Lunar is left with a part of a Lunar's blood thereafter - he receives +1 on all social rolls with other Exalted, Mortals and Godlings, and Lunars who use the Blood-Kin sense know it. Even without that, all Lunars who know of it will generally regard the donor well. A Lunar may use this Charm with another Lunar, thus sharing any shape of his Library with the Lunar this Charm is used on, or receiving any. This costs 3 Experience Points per shape.

Tasting the Fountain of Form
Cost: 8 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: Instant
Type: Simple
Minimum Appearance: 6
Minimum Essence: 6
Prerequisite Charms: Contract of Blood and Shape.
The Lunar tastes a creature's blood... and in it, gets a tiny sliver of its spirit, a blueprint of its form. The Lunar can hold this knowledge and stretch it, being able to take the shape of the one he drank at least one Health Level's worth of blood of, as if he had their Heart's Blood.

Thousand Forms Mastery
Cost: 5 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Minimum Appearance: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Shaping the Ideal Form, Silver-Soul's Dexterity and Wits.
The Lunar spreads his tatoos, and makes his form become... loose. The tatoos cease to constrain him. Thereafter, the Lunar may shapeshift freely - thereafter, all of his transformations based on Heart's Blood happen as Reflexive actions. However, turning on this Charm, he may do so at a greatly reduced cost for the remainder of the scene - only 2 motes per change of Form. He may even change if his anima is flaring on its iconic level, as long as he does not stay in a single form for more than one turn. As usual, shapechange does not count as a Charm use. With it, he may run as a wolf, jump as a rabbit, dodge as fly, strike as an elephant. If he changes to defend against an attack, he may only change after the attack has been applied. Likewise, if he changes to attack an enemy, he may only change again when the attack finishes.

Shape of Verdant Life
Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Minimum Appearance: 3
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: None.
This is a rare Charm amidst the Lunar Exalted, and few ever bother with it. Upon learning it, the Lunar increases his shapeshifting, able to transform into any kind of plant he has consumed, from a bush of roses to a great tree. Being able to shift into plants works in the following ways...

  • The Lunar may, from the purchase of this Charm onwards, flavor his shapeshifting with plants. From Tells that echo plants, in his shape, their perfume, or the like, to charms that create armor in the form of bark, grow flowers with boosts to appearance or thorns with natural weapons. Anything and everything is permissible in that way.
  • The Lunar may not become anything smaller than a single bush - a single flower is too simple for a Lunar to turn into.
  • The Lunar has to pay 1 experience point for every plant he learns to shapeshift into.
  • Shapeshifting into a plant is the same as with any part of the Lunar's Blood Library. Plants may never be Totems.
  • The Lunar may not move or act in the form of a plant, although he instantly roots into the earth if at all possible, even through cobblestones, and chooses where to move and how to appear as this plant. He will appear as the 'typical' size for one of those plants. This may be used as a stunt in a Strength+Athletics roll to break something with his roots.
  • The Lunar may perceive his surrounds dimly - he must make a Perception+Awareness roll as a dice action to perceive anything around him. The difficulty of this roll is 3. One success above three allows the Lunar to perceive vague shadows and movement, three successes allows the Lunar to make out slight details of things closer to him, and five successes allow the Lunar a clear picture of the enviroment around him.
  • The Lunar will most certainly receive the two extra successes to conceal his Tell from looking inconspicuous in the Form of a Plant. He may also receive even more successes - use the size modifers, Small, Tiny and Minuscule for the plants, and their bonus to Stealth Rolls - however, the Lunar always converts all of his attribute dice into automatic successes in stealth rolls if he becomes a plant among others of the same type, even if it is a great tree.
  • Usually, size differences are enough to account for the statistics of the Lunar in those forms. Although Trees have, aside from the size differences, usually Sturdy and some manner of armor, more often than not.

Wheel of Seasons Prana
Cost: 10 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: Instant
Type: Simple
Minimum Appearance: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Shape of Verdant Life.
The Lunar is able to shift the age of the plants he turns into, making seasons go by with each breath, or recede in the same breath. The Lunar must be transforming into a plant-form or be already transformed to use this Charm. With a Manipulation+Craft(Shapechange) roll, the Lunar may shift the apparent age of the plant he turns into by (Permanent Essence) years per success. The Lunar may grow the tree no more a hundred times his Essence in years, and may not become a bulb or a seed, only an infant plant. The modifiers to perceive the Lunar when smaller are the same as above. The Lunar may also channel Compassion while using this Charm to make fruit trees become full of fruit. He may even do this particular use of the Charm in other forms, sprouting his Appearance in Fruits from his body.

Leaping Trees Method
Cost: 3 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Appearance: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Wheel of Seasons Prana.
Pouring his Essence into it, the Lunar is able to move even things not built for it! Even in the form of a plant, the Luanr may move, attack, and do all things he possibly could before - be it as walking vines, uprooted , powerful trees, or any other sort! The Lunar can move with the plant normally in the turn this Charm is used, and converts his attribute dice in successes to his first action against a foe who's ignorant of the Lunar's plant status. The Lunar must continue to use this Charm every turn to keep the plant-form moving.

False Light

Guise of Elemental Radiance
Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Minimum Appearance: 3
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Many-Faced Moon Transformation.
Driking the blood of dragons, a Lunar can take the face of a Prince of the Earth, marked by the scales of the Dragons, commanding the respect of the world as a Chosen of the Dragons does. However, it is a merely physical guise, the elemental powers of the body untouched for the Lunar. But they are there. The power of the Dragons is on the Blood, and by harmonizing his essence and shape, perfecting his geomancy to it, the Lunar is able to draw on its raw connection to the elements, blossoming in power as one of the Dragon-Blooded!

Taking the shape of a Terrestrial the Lunar has consumed the Heart's Blood of, the Lunar may flare his anima with their colors, and maintain his Form up to the 13+ level of anima banner without his Tatoos or Tell showing. This anima has all the characteristics of a Terrestrial Anima Banner, including the damage wrought by this anima. The Lunar may also use the Anima Power of the Terrestrial while in this Form, receives no surcharge to practice Martial Arts aligned to the desired Element in this form, and qualifies from any other bonus a Terrestrial would receive while practicing it.

This also allows the Lunar to use the Blood Power of God-Blooded, Demon-Blooded, Fae-Blooded, Ghost-Blooded and other half-human creatures.

Guise of Empyrean Radiance
Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Minimum Appearance: 4
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Guise of Elemental Radiance.
Harder to harmonize with are the raw powers of the Celestial Exalted. Their power is not on their body, but their soul... and suffused as it is with their energies, their blood holds faint traces of it. That, however, is enough. Drawing that raw, simplest connection with the lights of heaven, the Lunar manages to mimic the power that used to have its home in the shape of one of their mates, the Solar Exalted. To do so is a painful procces, however, burning the Lunar's very essence, and requires the Lunar to commit a health level to it, that heals as an Aggravated Health Level when he ceases the commitment.

Taking the shape of a Solar the Lunar has consumed the Heart's Blood of, the Lunar may flare his anima with their colors, and maintain his Form up to the 13+ level of anima banner without his Tatoos or Tell showing. The Lunar receives access to all privileges one receives simply by being a Solar, and to their anima powers - however, the Eclipse power to learn Charms of other Exalted types cannot be mimicked this way.

Guise of Auspicious Radiance
Drawing that raw, simplest connection with the lights of heaven, the Lunar manages to mimic the power that used to have its home in the shape of one of their opposite numbers, the chosen of the maidens, the Sidereal Exalted. To do so is a painful procces, however, burning the Lunar's very essence, and requires the Lunar to commit a health level to it, that heals as an Aggravated Health Level when he ceases the commitment.

Taking the shape of a Sidereal the Lunar has consumed the Heart's Blood of, the Lunar may flare his anima with their colors, and maintain his Form up to the 13+ level of anima banner without his Tatoos or Tell showing. The Lunar receives access to their anima powers, but not to Arcane Fate, or the ability to work astrology.

Guise of Entropic Radiance
Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Minimum Appearance: 4
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Guise of Elemental Radiance.
Different than the Celestial Exalted, the Abyssal Exalted's body and soul are filled with touch of entropy... and it is a brave, or foolish, Lunar who desires to tap on this power. But some do, calling upon the tainted blood and essence in the shape they dress to create dark miracles once again... To do so is a painful procces, however, burning the Lunar's very essence, and requires the Lunar to commit a health level to it, that heals as an Aggravated Health Level when he ceases the commitment.

Taking the shape of a Abyssal the Lunar has consumed the Heart's Blood of, the Lunar may flare his anima with their colors, and maintain his Form up to the 13+ level of anima banner without his Tatoos or Tell showing. The Lunar receives access to all privileges one receives simply by being a Abyssal, and to their anima powers - however, the Moonshadow power to learn Charms of other Exalted types cannot be mimicked this way.

Guise of Shifting Radiance
Cost: None
Duration: Permanent
Type: Special
Minimum Appearance: 4
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Guise of Elemental Radiance.
The easiest power for the Lunar to draw on are that of the other Lunar Exalted... which they call from their own. All Lunars possess a channel for all five castes, which rotate freely before their caste is fixed. Opening this channel, the Lunar easily, painlessly harmonizes his anima with the Lunar Champion's shape he wears...

Taking the shape of another Lunar he has consumed the Heart's Blood of, the Chosen may flare his anima with their colors, and maintain his Form up to the 13+ level of anima banner without his Tatoos or Tell showing. The Lunar receives access to their anima powers, as well.

Shape of Heaven and Earth
Cost: 13 motes, 1 health level, 1 experience point
Duration: Instant
Type: Simple
Minimum Appearance: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Two Guise of (Type) Radiance Charms
Drawing on the channel opened by the consumed shapes in her soul, the Lunar opens her body to the essence of the Exalted, and lets it shift her body accordingly. The Essence of the Elements fills her body, turning it into flame or charcoal when channeling a consumed Fire Aspect, salt water and seaweed when channeling a Water Aspect, eyes of ruby, tatoos spreading and turning crimson over her body, turning into representation of weapons when channeling a Chosen of Battles. This allows Charm allows the Lunar to call on the anima powers of other Exalted when in his own forms, with the same limitations on which powers can be accessed as in the Guise of (Type) Radiance Charms(and the added limitation of being unable to mimic the Solar and Abyssal Divine Privilege and Dark Favors).

It is a painful proccess that requires the Lunar to commit a Health Level to it, and the first time an anima is channelled on his True Forms, the Lunar has to pay 1 experience point. Afterwards, the committed health level heal as Aggravated damage. With this Charm, the Lunar may...

  • ... use the Anima Power of the type of Exalted in this Shape, which may be close to his normal one.
  • ... activate an extra Anima Power by activating this Charm once again, and joining elements in steam, incense, prismatic light and others.
  • ... use Shaping the Ideal Form to appear to be an Spirit of the appropriate type - an Elemental when channeling a consumed Dragon-Blooded, or a God when channeling a consumed Celestial, a Ghost when channeling a consumed Abyssal. To appear as an specific spirit is a roll with a difficulty equal to 5+ the being's Essence, using Shaping the Ideal Form. The Lunar does not become a spirit, but can at least fake their appearance. Demon-Blooded and Fae-Blooded allow the Lunar to appear as Demons or Faerie, again with the proper type in mind(Tracing the demonic lineage, and the characteristics of the Fae-Blooded's parents).
