Lunar Ranged Combat

All Charms in this Cascade may freely be used with Archery or Thrown, or for some styles, even Martial Arts.

Hunting

Eagle Eye Advantage
Cost: 1 mote
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Perception: 1
Minimum Essence: 1
Prerequisite Charms: Silver-Soul’s Perception.
The Lunar hones his senses, and his strike becomes simply one of striking the opponent in the right place. Careful observers(A Perception+Awareness roll at difficulty 3) can notice the change on the Lunar's eyes, that take an avian aspect, but she is otherwise unchanged. For one ranged attack, the Lunar may substitute his Dexterity with his Perception.

Nature’s Harmony Advantage
Cost: 1 mote
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Perception: 2
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Silver-Soul’s Perception.
Listening to her instincts, the Lunar can ignore enviromental penalties, such as wind and rain, on the path of her ranged attack. The projectile always flies true, allowing the Exalt to ignore all enviromental penalties on her ranged attack. This has no effect on visibility or cover penalties.

Wind-Wings Carry Technique
Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Perception: 2
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Nature’s Harmony Advantage.
Honing his senses to supernatural levels, the Exalt becomes able to see the flows of essence in the air, and to steer a projectile through them to its target, greatly increasing its range! The Lunar drops the range penalty by 2. Thus, doubling range has no penalty, tripling the range incurs a -2 penalty, and so on. This Charm adds +1 to the Lunar's accuracy if targetting opponents at shorter distances, and being an accuracy bonus, does not count towards dice-adding limits.

Riding the Secret Wind
Cost: 4 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: Instant
Type: Simple
Minimum Perception: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Wind-Wings Carry Technique.
By attuning her senses to the flows of Essence and the senses of beasts on an area, the Lunar may target any opponent on the reach of his weapon... even if no clear line of sight exists between her and the target, even moving impossibly and taking detours. As long as there is some unblocked route the projectile could take to its target, it will attempt to strike the victim. The usual range penalties apply, but the target receives no cover penalties, and will be taken by surprise unless it makes a Wits+Awareness roll with a difficulty equal to the Lunar's Essence. If it suceeds, it may parry as usual, if it fails, only defenses that specifically state they can defend attacks the victim is not aware of may defend against it.

Harmony with the World Instinct
Cost: 6 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Minimum Perception: 5
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Wind-Wings Carry Technique, Eagle Eye Advantage.
The Lunar attunes her senses to the world around her, his eyes becoming as a hawk's, knowing the path of every projectile, knowing how to strike and where. For the remainder of the scene the Lunar may not be surprised by foes unless they are immaterial – not even invisibility and shapeshifting will fail to make the Lunar notice something. The Lunar also adds a number of dice equal to half her Perception(rounded up) to all ranged attacks, and may freely use her Perception instead of Dexterity for all ranged attacks.

Arrow-Shaping Method
Cost: 4 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: One Scene
Type: Simple
Minimum Perception: 3
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Nature’s Harmony Advantage.
So long as she is surrounded by raw materials - stones, twigs, bones, reeds, blades of grass and the like - a Lunar will not run out of ammunition. The Lunar picks an appropriate piece of raw material - anything long and thin for arrows, or roughly the correct shape for ranged weapons - and transforms it into a suitable missile, becoming a functional, non-magical item of that type. The Lunar may shape a number of projectiles per turn equal to the her Perception, and must use them in a number of days equal to her Essence, or they return to normal. A projectile that returns to normal inside a creature as they revert deal 1L extra damage.

Killing

Knowing the Wind’s Path
Cost: 1 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Perception: 2
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: None.
Cover is a target's best defense against missile attacks, but the preternaturally enhanced senses and reflexes of a Lunar may degrade its effectiveness. Using this Charm, the Lunar ignores any and all cover penalties, including those of a shield, when firing at an opponent.

Deadly Assassin's Shot
Cost: 1 mote
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Perception: 3
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Knowing the Wind’s Path.
Tapping into the predatory senses of insects and other creatures that know how to kill with swift stings, the Lunar's strike is so swift and precise that it strikes at vital points of a target, inflicting deadlier damage than it should otherwise be! When rolling damage, the Lunar counts all 10s as two successes.

Lighting Stroke Attack
Cost: 6 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Strength: 5
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Deadly Assassin's Shot, Silver-Soul's Strength.
Some projectiles are so swift and powerful that the target does not even see it coming, and has no chance to avoid it. The ranged attacks enhanced by this charm are rolled normally, but they are unparriable and undodgeable - the target has to rely on its soak to defend against the attack unless it possesses applicability-trumping defenses.

Silver Waterfall Technique
Cost: 3 motes per attack
Duration: Instant
Type: Extra Action
Minimum Dexterity: 3
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Knowing the Wind’s Path, Silver-Soul’s Dexterity.
Shifting her body to receive an efficient, fluid grace, the Lunar Archer can make her missiles fire through the air at a preternatural speed. For every 3 motes of essence spent, the Lunar may make an extra ranged attack. The Lunar may not buy more extra actions than her permanent essence rating, and may not make any ranged attacks unless she has the ammunition to do so.

Rain of Silver Death
Cost: 2 motes per target
Duration: Instant
Type: Extra Action
Minimum Dexterity: 5
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms: Silver Waterfall Technique.
The Lunar can, using her mighty grace, cover the sky with missiles, covering her foes in a rain of silver death. The Lunar throws a number of missiless equal to (her Dexterity x the Rate of her weapon) aiming two missiles per target, in a number of targets in an area equal to her Dexterity in yards. The Lunar makes one attack roll, and applies it to all targets. All those struck receive a difficulty to defend equal to the Lunar's Essence, and receive no cover or movement bonuses.

Liquid Rain Movement
Cost: 6 motes, 1 willpower, 1 health level
Duration: Instant
Type: Extra Action
Minimum Dexterity: 5
Minimum Essence: 5
Prerequisite Charms: Rain of Silver Death.
Mastering both speed and perception, the Lunar reshapes her inner form and perceptions for a moment, moving with grace too fluid, perceiving the slightest shifts in the air, able to throw projectiles and nock arrows at dazzling speeds, aim coming naturally for her. This Charm gives the Lunar two Independent Actions in addition to her normal dice action, but all actions taken in those Independent Actions must be within the domain of Ranged Combat.

Finding the Needle’s Eye
Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Perception: 2
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Knowing the Wind’s Path.
With this Charm, the Lunar attempts to deflect a missile aimed at him with a missile of his own! The Lunar throws his own missile in the path of the attack, and receives a parry with his full Dexterity + Ranged Ability, with each success reducing the enemy's successes as usual.

Arrow-Breaking Shot
Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Perception: 3
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: Finding the Needle’s Eye.
With this Charm, the Lunar may protect his allies from missile assaults as readily as she protects herself! The Lunar rolls her full dice pool to attempt to strike an enemy missile. This is, however, an all or nothing attempt - if the Lunar does not manage to fully deflect the missile, she does not reduce the successes to strike at the target.

Missile

Sting-Genesis Prana
Cost: 4 motes, 1 willpower, 1 Health Level
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Strength: 3
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms: None.
The Lunar Exalted with this charm is able to create ammunition, be it creating any type of ivory arrows from his bones, or able to turns feathers or fur into thrown weapons... or even turning her skin into flowing silver knives. This Charm creates Natural Weapons, as the Lunar creates a number of missiles equal to her Strength+Essence for every use of this Charm. Those weapons have the statistics of normal thrown weapons or arrows of their type. They do not need to be extruded all at once, so the Lunar may make her Feathers weapons, but only pluck one per turn! Charms that enhance Natural Weapons, such as Silver-Blessed Edge, work only for one of the many possible configurations of this Charm(And thus could only enhance Chakrams, or Bows, or Throwing Knives...).

Arrow of All Moons
Cost: 7 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Perception: 4
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Sting-Genesis Prana, Arrow-Shaping Technique.
Imbuing his projectiles with his protean nature, the Lunar lets them fly... and then spreads them in mid-air, making them blossom like a flower, each petal another deadly missile! The Lunar must use this Charm when making a ranged attack with a projectile he has created with his own power, and makes a ranged attack, applied to a single target as a number of attacks equal to half his Perception, rounded up.

Eye of the Feathered Whirlwind Concentration
Cost: 8 motes, 1 willpower, 2 Health Levels
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Perception: 4
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Sting-Genesis Prana.
The Lunar focuses his essence for a moment... then explodes in a multitude of weapons, flowing silver chackrams from her skin, feathers from her wings, needles of fur from her mane, or a nest of living hair strands. They are Natural Weaponry created by this Charm, and hover around the Lunar for a Scene, dealing their damage to all hand-to-hand attacks on the Lunar. They also give a difficulty penalty to hit the Lunar equal to half the Lunar's Perception(rounded down). This also creates a number of ranged weapons equal to four times the Lunar's Strength(rounded down). The Lunar may pluck those from the air around herself and use them normally, without penalty. After half of those are used up, the damage and difficulty penalties are reduced by half(rounded down), after all of them are used up, all the benefits are used up and the Lunar must activate this Charm again.

Deadly Moonsilver Flock
Cost: 12 motes, 1 willpower, 1 health level
Duration: Instant
Type: Simple
Minimum Perception: 5
Minimum Essence: 5
Prerequisite Charms: Arrow of All Moons
The Lunar touches his moonsilver tatoos and rips them out of his flesh, letting them loose in the air... and turning them into beautiful moonsilver birds, flying towards his opponents as birds towards their prey! The Lunar creates a number of Moonsilver birds equal to half his Essence. This Charm creates natural weaponry. The Lunar makes a single ranged combat attack with the birds as if they had the statistics of Moonsilver versions of a thrown weapon, applying this attack a number of times against a single target, or different targets, as he has birds.

The moonsilver birds do not disappear; Instead, they proceed to attack once again in the following turn, indepedently from the Lunar. They act in the same initiative tick that they originally acted in, with the same number of successes and the same charm enhancements as before at no cost for the Lunar. They can be stopped by being destroyed - each bird counts as an Extra for purposes of damage, has a difficulty 2 to be hit, and has lethal and bashing soak equal to the Lunar's Essence. The birds cannot take any defensive action. When the birds kill their target, the Lunar simply reassigns them to another target within their range - but the range from their current point to their target, regardless of the Lunar's own location.
