Bongos have an short aurbun coat with 10 to 15 thin white stripes and a short crest of hair along its spine. Both males and females have straight yellow horns with one twist that reach 40 inches. Herds consist of 6 to 8 females and young with males living alone. Bongos live in dense tropical woodlands in the Southwest and Southeast and are very adept at moving through the dense undergrowth.
