Dragon-Blooded Sail Charms by CrownedSun

Sailor-Buoying Gesture

 Cost: 1 motes
 Duration: One scene
 Type: Reflexive
 Minimum Sail: 3
 Minimum Essence: 1
 Prerequisite Charms: Hurricane-Predicting Glance

It is a well-known fact that sailors cannot swim, which often gets them in no amount of trouble should one of them fall overboard. In most cases, the crew only has a few short moments to rescue the drowning sailor. A Dragon-Blooded with this charm can almost casually save the life of any crew-member in such a predicament, however, even in the midst of combat. A simple uplifting gesture in the direction of the sailor, and the sailor finds himself buoyed by the waters themselves, his head kept above water regardless of his ability to swim. The Exalt can only buoy a number of sailors at any one time equal to his willpower. If the sailor is rescued before the charm expires, he can immediately uncommit the motes -- the duration reflects the maximum amount of time the character can keep the subjects from drowning.

Wave-Riding Boarders

 Cost: 2 motes per subject
 Duration: One turn
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Sail: 3
 Minimum Essence: 2
 Prerequisite Charms: Sailor-Buoying Gesture

The Dragon-Blooded uses this charm picks himself and his companions up in a massive wave, even those unable to swim, which carries them swiftly toward a ship of the Dragon-Bloodeds choice. The range limit of this charm is equal to 100 yards per dot the Dragon-Blooded has in the Sail ability, and if the targetted ship is further away then the Dragon-Blooded must use this charm again on the following turn until he reaches the ship. Once he does, the wave lifts him and his companions up onto the deck of the ship, a bit wet but otherwise unharmed.\\ The Dragon-Blooded spends two motes per subject, including himself. The Dragon-Blooded is deposited on the enemy ship at the end of the turn in which he reaches it (the turn the charm is used, in most cases) -- the Dragon-Blooded himself has used his action to activate the charm, but any other companions in the grip of the wave may choose to 'hold' their action for when they arrive on the ship. No actions are possible while in transit.\\ This charm can only be used on a number of companions equal to the Dragon-Bloodeds essence. This is in addition to the character himself.

Boarder-Repelling Wave

 Cost: 4 motes
 Duration: Instant
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Sail: 4
 Minimum Essence: 3
 Prerequisite Charms: Wave-Riding Boarders

The Exalt summons a mighty wave that whips over the ships deck, tossing his enemies and forcing them out into the ocean deeps. The magic of this charm is quite potent, easily enough to clear most mortals from the ship yet still precise enough to spare any of his own men. The wave can affect an area about Essence x10 yards long, taking anyone in that cross-section off into the oceans unless they make a Dexterity + Athletics or Sail roll (whichever is higher). The difficulty is equal to the Exalts Sail ability for enemies, and 1 for any member of the Terrestrials crew. The hungry water also takes anything on the deck not tied down or secured. This charm only works on a ship at sea.

Enduring Earth-Buoyed Fleet

 Cost: 7 motes, 1 willpower
 Duration: One day
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Sail: 5
 Minimum Resistance: 4
 Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms: Sturdy Bulkhead Concentration, and Chaos-Warding Prana

This Charm allows the Dragon-Blooded to pull use of the borders of Creation, and sail off into the Wyld with assurance. While only rarely used, a number of high-ranking members of the Realm's Navy know this charm for use in patrolling dangerous waters where the wyld has grown powerful in the long years since the Great Contagion. A single Dragon-Blooded can protect a single ship from the Wyld, shielding it and all those aboard from the effects of Wyld Mutation for a day. This also affects supplies and cargo aboard the ship, and the frightening solidity of the ship usually keeps away a fair amount of the lesser dangers of the Wyld sea, though some things might be attracted to the ship by this charm. This charm is somewhat weak against Pure Chaos, and cannot entirely protect a ship in such an enviroment -- instead treat the ship as if it was in the bordermarches.
Multiple Dragon-Blooded working together can use this charm synergistically, bringing entire fleets into the Wyld. Each Dragon-Blooded using this charm automatically protects the ship he's on, and the group as a whole protects a number of additional ships equal to the number of extra Dragon-Blooded participating in the charm. No more Dragon-Blooded can participate in this charm than the Essence + Performance rating of the highest ranking Dynast present, and each must have the charm in question.
This charm is considered in-caste for both Earth and Water aspects.

Example: Three dragon-blooded use this charm on a small flotilla. The leader has a Essence of 4, and a Performance 3, and so can support up to seven Dragon-Blooded in total. This is not a problem, as there are only three of them. Separately, they'd protect three ships. However, working togethery they can protect an extra two ships -- five total.
