Flare Up Counterstrike

Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Melee: 3
Minimum Essence: 2
Prerequisite Charms:: Stoking Bonfire Style

Stirring even the most quiescent embers can result in a resurgence of heat which will burn the unwary. This charm may be activated whenever the exalt is struck in combat and recieves damage. If in range, he may make an immediate counterattack at his full melee dice pool. As a bonus, add a number of dice to the accuracy of this attack equal to the number of health levels of damage the exalt recieved from the instigating strike. This is a charm bonus and follows the normal rules for such dice.

Unity of Blades Assault

Cost: 2 motes, +2 motes for each ally inlcuded
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Minimum Melee: 5
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms:: Threshing Floor Technique

By learning to strike in unison with his allies, warriors who master this technique can increase the odds of inlficting significant damage by flustering his foe. Unity of Blades Assault adds 1 die to the post soak damage pool of the exalt and any allies empowered by the charm. The exalt must empower at least one other attacking ally in order for this charm to take effect. If multiple Terrestrials intend to use this charm against the same target they may waive the preceding requirement. In the case of multiple dragon blooded using this charm against the same target, for every Terrestrial beyond the first increase the target's difficulty to defend against all attacks supplemented by this charm by 1. The maximum number of allies an exalt may empower with this charm is equal to his melee score. Any given attack may only have its damage increased by a maximum of 1 die by any application of this charm.

Hesiesh's Searing Blade

Cost: 6 motes, 1 willpower, 1 health level
Duration: One Scene
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Melee: 5
Minimum Essence: 4
Prerequisite Charms:: Refining The Inner Blade

It is the Terrestrial's birthright to be the heirs of elemental power. By calling upon the power of the Elemental Dragons and tempering it through their anima, a Dragon Blood may infuse his weapon with un-rivaled elemental might. Despite the fact that this charm calls upon the element of its wielder, the ease with which the chosen of fire may employ it has lead to its common name. Upon activating this charm, the exalt adds his permenant essence to the base damage of a single weapon. In addition, that weapon is constantly under the effects of Dragon-Graced Weapon(aligned to the wielder's aspect) for the duration of the charm. Finally, the pure elemental savagery contained within the weapon is enough to sunder most mortal arms and armor. Whenever a mundane weapon comes in contact with the weapon, either by parrying it or being parried by it, roll the exalt's permenant essence. If he scores at least one success, the weapon is destroyed. Similarly, any armor struck by the weapon will have its soak reduced by the weapon's base damage if the exalt scores at least one success on a permenant essence roll. Non-artifact weapons enhanced by this charm are destroyed at the end of the scene.

Latest Charms

Resurgent Flame Technique

Cost: 3 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Minimum Melee: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms:: Flare Up Counterstrike

Just when you think you've quelled the hungry arms of a fire they spring back from an unexpected direction. Terristrial warriors who learn from this lesson can wear down and fluster their foes with relentless attacks. This charm may only be activated when the Exalt misses and attack as a result of a defensive action on the part of their opponent. The Terrestial may immediately make another attack using the same base statistics as the one that missed. This attack may be supplemented by charms as normal. If the Exalt wishes to repeat an attack generated by a simple charm they may only do so by including the charm in a combo with Resurgent Flame Technique. This charm may only be activated once for any given attack.

Searing Caress

Cost: 3 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: supplemental
Minimum Melee: 4
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms:: Deadly Wildfire Legion

By sacrificing power for finesse the exalt may strike with unfailing agility. Attacks supplemented by this charm will always strike with at least one success. In exchange, the Exalt's post soak damage may never exceed his permanent essence in dice. Perfect defenses such as Seven Shadow Evasion or Heavenly Guardian Defense will stop this attack as usual.

Hesiesh's Perfected Strike of the Fire Dragon

Cost: 5 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: Instant
Type: supplemental
Minimum Melee: 5
Minimum Essence: 3
Prerequisite Charms:: Searing Caress

According to legend, this is but one of many charms Hesiesh developed from inspiration bestowed upon him by the Elemental Dragon of Fire. If a flame's heat is strong enough, there is nothing it cannot consume. By calling on an unshakable confidence in his technique and the grace of his Patron the Exalt may execute an attack that will strike true against any opponent. Any attack supplemented by this charm has all of its dice converted into automatic successes. This charm functions differently if the opponent is using a defense enhanced or created by charms. Roll the attack as normal and then re-roll any dice that don't come up as successes. An attack may only be supplemented by this charm once. This charm is incompatible with any other effects which would cause the Dragon Blood to re-roll attack dice.

Mind Searing Flash, allowing you to shave 2 successes off other people's actions for a single mote like it does, is too powerful. It certainly doesn't belong in Melee. I would recommend Blinding Spark Distraction from AB:F for an appropiate Terrestrial-level effect. -TheMyriadOfShades

Totally forgot about that charm. Far appropriate for the type of charm I was looking for. Mind-Searing Flash goes back to the drawing board, possibly to emerge as an awareness charm. -Ambisinister

Some new stuff. Not quite sure where in the cascades to place Searing Caress. Having my DB book elsewhere isn't helping the matter. I'm also unsure as to whether or not Hesiesh's Perfected Strike of the Fire Dragon needs a willpower in its activation cost. Unless I'm mistaken, most 'perfect' style attacks don't generally have a willpower cost, but this may be considered slightly more potent and warrant it.- Ambisinister

Me, I'm all for keeping the DB's down, and I also like the mechanic involved (it's quite a lot of successes against pure mortals, but 'brittle', in that charms help weaken it nicely), and also that it's not actually perfect (which, in my opinion, is Solar only, ever, for any reason). I say keep the WP cost, and allow the mechanic to be re-used elsewhere for DB-equivalent perfects. (Such as a perfect defense that causes all dice to be successes, unless the attack was enhanced by a charm, in which case you re-roll non-successful dice). - GregLink
I agree with GregLink... though I apparently like to see the DBs a bit more powerful than he does. ;) Perfected Strike has a really interesting mechanic and it would be quite nifty to see others almost perfects use it. - ScrambledValkyrie
