Great Depths Intuition

 Cost: 1 mote per success
 Duration: Instant
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Lore: 2
 Minimum Essence: 1
 Prerequisite Charms: None

The Lunar delves deeply into his mind, sorting through facts and drawing logical connections with great speed. This Charm allows the Lunar to convert dice, up to his Intelligence, into automatic successes on a single Lore check regarding a subject that the Lunar has knowledge of.

Quicksilver Wit Style

Cost: 3 motes per dot, 1 Willpower
 Duration: Indefinite
 Type: Simple (Transformation)
 Minimum Lore: 3
 Minimum Essence: 2
 Prerequisite Charms: Great Depths Intuition

Flowing Lunar Essence pools around the character's mind and synapses, granting him astounding response speed and directness of thought. This Charm allows the Lunar to boost his Wits at the cost of 3 motes per dot, to a maximum of his Essence or Lore, whichever is less. The increased Attribute counts as natural for the dice-adder limits of Lunar charms.
This is a Transformation Charm of the Cunning Totem.

Wistful Recollection of Tranquil Sea

 Cost: 10 motes, 1 Willpower
 Duration: Instant
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Lore: 5
 Minimum Essence: 2
 Prerequisite Charms: Great Depths Intuition

The Lunars believe that their Shards join with Luna when they leave their bodies, having a brief period of respite as part of a flowing see of moonsilver before reincarnating. This Charm plays off of this belief - for, as all Lunar Shard have at one point been part of a mixed consciousness, a fragment of all Lunar knowledge is inside any Lunar willing to look.
This Charm empowers the use to make a single Lore check and reference any information, held by any Lunar - living or dead. The base difficulty of the check is prohibitive (3 for knowledge garnered by one of the character's incarnations, 5 for knowledge held by other Lunars) and increases rapidly for hidden knowledge (assume any facts beyond the most basic of history increase the difficulty by 1-3). If the Lunar who keeps the knowledge is currently incarnated and does not wish the knowledge to be used, he reflexively senses the attempt to 'pick his brain' and may expend a point of temporary Willpower to prevent it. If so prevented, the user of this Charm cannot delve for that fact again during that incarnation of that Shard.
The Lunar must meditate for 15 minutes before using this Charm, but may avoid this prohibition by willfully suffering a health level of lethal damage in addition to the base cost of the Charm.

Tattoo-Carving Method

Cost: 9 motes, 1 Willpower, (1 experience point)
 Duration: Instant
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Lore: 4
 Minimum Essence: 2
 Prerequisite Charms: Great Depths Intuition

The Lunar carves a tattoo into the body of an individual (Who must be capable of soaking Lethal damage - if they are not innately capable of such a feat, they suffer three health levels of lethal) while exuding a degree of Essence, which flows into the markings.
This Charm is primarily a gateway into more potent tattooing magics. It costs 9 motes and 1 Willpower to use, and the subject must sacrifice one experience point to make it permanent (If they cannot, allow them to go into experience debt for this tattoo and this tattoo only.). The Lunar can only brand a person with a tattoo representing the Lunar's own Society and with a truthful accounting of what they're entitled to - it takes different magics to craft forgeries.
A tattoo crafted with this Charm is a mark of legitimacy among Lunar Societies - it lists what the character's Society entitles him to, and whom he answers to. The larger the tattoo, the higher the character's status - the tattoo grows to list new deeds or new ranks, and cannot be erased, though it can be disguised or covered with makeup. If a character cannot prove his legitimate 'dominion' over a given object with a tattoo, it is not a breach of Society relations to seize it - if Raksi fails to brand her servants, their possessions are not protected from Ma-Ha-Suchi's depredations, and she has no voice in disputing what he takes without declaring war herself.
In addition to proving social legitimacy, such a tattoo allows a Lunar to instantly regain (his Society background) motes of Essence when first hit by moonlight on a given day. Luna meant for the Lunars to foster extended packs to protect one another, and rewards those groups with this boon.
The Lunar may carve this tattoo onto himself, if he wishes. It cannot be applied to undead, most spirits, demons, Elementals, or the Fair Folk, though weird and obscure tattooing arts may exist for this purpose.

Soaring Spirit Messenger Brand

Cost: 12 motes, 1 Willpower, (3 experience points)
 Duration: Instant
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Lore: 5
 Minimum Linguistics: 3
 Minimum Essence: 2
 Prerequisite Charms: Tattoo-Carving Method

This Charm allows the Lunar to carve a pattern of Essence into an individual, in the form of a tattoo. It must be attached to a character with existing Society tattoos, but the carver and the subject need not share a Society. Once carved, it gives the subject access to a mystical secret - the ability to send a 'messenger', in the form of a bird made of Essence, to another being. The character must expend 3 experience points upon being branded with this Charm, or the tattoo melts away after a scene, regardless of whether it was used or not.
The tattooed character gains the following ability

  • Spirit Messenger: You may, as a simple action, expend 10 motes of Essence to dispatch a messenger-bird, carved of Essence. The bird can seek out any creature with Society tattoos that you name or indicate, as long as they are within (your Essence) in miles. It delivers, aloud and in your voice, a message of up to 10 words per point of Linguistics you posess, then dissolves. If the target of this ability is a member of your Society, halve the cost to 5 motes. The appearance of the bird is yours to dictate, but it is always silverish in color, and cannot be mistaken for anything but a bird moving in some unusual or supernatural fashion. The bird can pass through walls and windows of mundane materials, becoming a silver bird-shaped being of Essence for the moment in which it does so.

The Lunar may carve this tattoo onto himself, if he wishes. It cannot be applied to undead, most spirits, demons, Elementals, or the Fair Folk, though weird and obscure tattooing arts may exist for this purpose.

Serpent Soul Resilience Mark

Cost: 12 motes, 1 Willpower, (3 experience points)
 Duration: Instant
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Lore: 5
 Minimum Socialize: 3
 Minimum Essence: 2
 Prerequisite Charms: Tattoo-Carving Method

This Charm allows the Lunar to carve a pattern of Essence into another member of his Society, in the form of a tattoo. It must be attached to a character with existing Society tattoos, but the carver and the subject need not share a Society. Once carved, it gives the subject access to a mystical secret - the ability to allow other tattooed beings in his area to 'shake off' mental effects. The character must expend 3 experience points upon being branded with this Charm, or the tattoo melts away after a scene, regardless of whether it was used or not.
The tattooed character gains the following ability.

  • Serpent Soul Beckons: You may, as a simple action, expend 8 motes of Essence per subject (selecting up to your Essence in subjects). All of these subjects must have Society tattoos and must be within your line of sight. If under the effects of Charm or sorcery-enhanced coercion, the subjects instantly receive a chance to snap out of it (if the Charm or spell is not a perfect effect) again, with your Essence as automatic successes. If the target of this ability is a member of your Society, halve the cost to 4 motes. The character may not indicate himself as a subject of this Charm - it merely allows a social Lunar to bolster his allies.

The Lunar may carve this tattoo onto himself, if he wishes. It cannot be applied to undead, most spirits, demons, Elementals, or the Fair Folk, though weird and obscure tattooing arts may exist for this purpose.

Alpha's Ire Agony Mark

Cost: 16 motes, 1 Willpower, (12 experience points)
 Duration: Instant
 Type: Simple
 Minimum Lore: 5
 Minimum Presence: 4
 Minimum Essence: 4
 Prerequisite Charms: Tattoo-Carving Method

This Charm allows the Lunar to carve a pattern of Essence into another member of his Society, in the form of a tattoo. It must be attached to a character with existing Society tattoos, but the carver and the subject need not share a Society. Once carved, it gives the subject access to a mystical secret - the direct ability to, with the force of one's own will, agonize subservient members of one's Society, causing their tattoos to pump horrific venoms directly into their blood. The character must expend 12 experience points upon being branded with this Charm, or the tattoo melts away after a scene, regardless of whether it was used or not.
The tattooed character gains the following ability.

  • Omega-Cowing Agony: You may, as a simple action, expend 10 motes of Essence per subject (selecting up to your Essence in subjects). All of these subjects must be within your line of sight and must be a member of your Society with less rank, or otherwise clearly subservient to you (ST's call on ranks - most Lunar societies have a lose hierarchy).
  • The subjects must all roll Willpower against a difficulty of your Charisma - if they fail, they suffer (your Charisma + Essence) dice of lethal damage (soaked only with natural soak), and are paralyzed with agony for (your Essence) in turns. Even if they succeed, they suffer a three-die penalty to all actions for the rest of the scene. Repeated applications of this power can kill a servant, and have been used to do so - death in this fashion is an agonizing process that reminds other Society members of the price for crossing the alpha without proper caution.

The Lunar may carve this tattoo onto himself, if he wishes. It cannot be applied to undead, most spirits, demons, Elementals, or the Fair Folk, though weird and obscure tattooing arts may exist for this purpose. The presence of this Tattoo on a Society member is seen as somewhat crass, but as Raksi herself bears one, it is not censured - merely frowned upon as a sign of the darker state of current Lunar affairs.

Huh. These Charms are actually related to the Lore ability. How odd. -szilard

Don't worry, the obligatory pseudosorcery 'anti-Wyld' Charms will be put in place in a moment ~BerserkSeraph
It was more applause than criticism. Anyway, shouldn't Wyld-dealing stuff be under Survival for Lunars? Alternately, what about putting Wyld-related charms into a variety of trees? -szilard
I figured it was complimentary. More accurately, this Charm tree will include 'Tattoo-Cutting', reinterpreted - it will function like Sorcery, in that the first Charm in the line gives the ability to make Society Tattoos (which are used as a 'mark of right' - a statement that defines that Lunar Steve, who was given his Horde and Plunder because he works for Raksi, has rightful ownership of that property as a member of the Thousand Fangs. Other Charms will allow for broader or more potent tattoos - generally, these will function 'in-Society' and have secondary prerequisites. The Lore + Craft Tattoo will, for example, function against Wyld influence, whereas the Lore + Linguistics one will allow the transmission of messages to Society peers. The idea is to play up the social aspect of Lunar Societies and give the players interacting abilities. ~ BerserkSeraph
