Where the Dragon-Blooded offer frailty in body, the Abyssal Exalted offer a frailty of spirit. Each is a horror, a living, breathing abomination that wishes to drag everything down into destruction in place of themselves. Everything they do is done to kill a world that would've killed them, making them the ultimate in selfish entities.
It's kind of admirable, really.
