   Calls forth a cascade of scultped obsidian butterflies with razor-sharp wings. &lt;br /&gt;
   Fly through the air in a pattern 30 yards wide, 100 yards long, and 10 yards high. &lt;br /&gt;
   When cast, roll Perc+Occult with autosux in permanent Essence. Butterflies are &lt;br /&gt;
   an attack with that many success, with base damage 8L.&lt;br /&gt;

 Demon of the First Circle                     (20+m, sundown to midnight, Terrestrial)&lt;br /&gt;
   Summon a First Circle demon. The cost and extra motes are committed until the spell is cast. Once&lt;br /&gt;
   the demon is summoned, contest of wills. Ess+Willpower, first one to get three successes more than&lt;br /&gt;
   the other. Every 5 motes past 20 lead to a -1 for the demon. If demon wins, reflexive Wits+Occult&lt;br /&gt;
   at diff 3 to banish.&lt;br /&gt;

 Appearance:&lt;br /&gt;
 Erudite Obsidian Scythe is a man appearing to be in his mid to late twenties, with a very thin frame. &lt;br /&gt;
 He has long black hair that is left unrestrained and golden eyes. His clothing consists of a silver &lt;br /&gt;
 short sleeved tunic, a pair black slacks that end where a pair of brown boots begins. A belt loops &lt;br /&gt;
 around his waist, while a crimson cloak hangs from a silver clasp at the base of his neck. The cloak &lt;br /&gt;
 is typically wrapped around him, concealing most of his form from view. His hands are sheathed in a &lt;br /&gt;
 pair of black leather gloves as well.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
 Background:&lt;br /&gt;
 Born to a relatively non descript family within the myriad realms of the Hundred Kingdoms, Erudite &lt;br /&gt;
 Obsidian Scythe was originally given the name of Raging Wind by his parents in the expectation he would &lt;br /&gt;
 become a soldier for their small kingdom. An only child, he recieved their full attention, but he seemed &lt;br /&gt;
 to excel in mental challenges than in the physical challenges set to him. As such, once he turned the &lt;br /&gt;
 age of twelve he was placed under the teachings of an Outcaste Terrestrial sorcerer.&lt;br /&gt;
 His training continued for five years, before everything was rudely interrupted by the arrival of a &lt;br /&gt;
 beautiful deathknight proclaiming herself to be 'Resplendant Obsidian Hound'. She demanded that she be &lt;br /&gt;
 given control of the kingdom in the name of her master, a Deathlord of the Underworld. When the people &lt;br /&gt;
 actually mustered the courage to refuse, she began the slaughter. The troops raised against her fell to &lt;br /&gt;
 her blade. The plots set against her by the rulers of the kingdom were pierced by her own knowledge and &lt;br /&gt;
 punishment swiftly followed. When his teacher tried one last ploy, summoning a demon through more &lt;br /&gt;
 powerful arts, she dominated the demon and had it slay him. By the time she was done, the region was &lt;br /&gt;
 completely unihabitable and nearly all of the people were dead.&lt;br /&gt;
 She began her rule then, until Raging Wind reached the age of twenty. At that point he and only a couple &lt;br /&gt;
 other mortals were still alive, and the kingdom was slowly becoming a shadowland. The people were reaching &lt;br /&gt;
 their breaking point, as the deathknight conitnued to work them until they died as well, content to relish &lt;br /&gt;
 in their suffering. Raging Wind finally slipped out in the early dawn from the camps they were kept in, in&lt;br /&gt;
  search of the library his master had gone to for the spell to summon the demon that had been turned &lt;br /&gt;
 against him. Two weeks of scouring the kingdom/shadowland passed and he found himself at a magnificent &lt;br /&gt;
 pyramid building, constructed in ages long past. He entered it hesitantly, finding many bodies of guardians &lt;br /&gt;
 that looked as if they had been torn apart by a frenzy of blades. At the room at the top of the pyramid, &lt;br /&gt;
 he found a hearthstone, a scythe made of brilliant golden metal, and a simple bound book. Taking up the &lt;br /&gt;
 book, he began to study it, finding within it descriptions and spells he in a hundred years would never &lt;br /&gt;
 be capable of that his master had done from time to time. He studied within the Manse for months, until &lt;br /&gt;
 finally Resplendant Obsidian Hound found it as well and entered. Confronting him in the hearthstone chamber &lt;br /&gt;
 of the Manse, she at first offered him a spot in her own reutine if he would join him. He refused, devoted &lt;br /&gt;
 to extracting his vengance from her. She raised her blade in preparation to strike him down, and then the &lt;br /&gt;
 chamber was bathed in golden light.&lt;br /&gt;
 When it faded, Raging Wind was holding the scythe in one hand, the hearthstone set in it, and the book open &lt;br /&gt;
 in the other. The mark of the Twilight blazed on his forehead, as purple, red, and golden light flared around &lt;br /&gt;
 him. A cold grin appeared on his face as he spoke. &amp;quot;I am Raging Wind no longer. I surrender that life in &lt;br /&gt;
 exchange for the power to slay you, servant of Malfeas.&amp;quot; The light only grew around him as he began to shape &lt;br /&gt;
 the Essence around him into the form of Death of Obsidian Butterflies. The deathknight began to back away, &lt;br /&gt;
 but before she could escape the spell was cast. After the spell finally faded, only a few bits of blood were&lt;br /&gt;
  visible, trailing out of the chamber and eventually out of the Manse. At that moment he took the name &lt;br /&gt;
 Erudite Obsidian Scythe. Learned from his Exaltation and his master's teachings, tempered by his experiences&lt;br /&gt;
 at the heel of a deathknight, and armed with relics of his past self. He set out into the world to increase &lt;br /&gt;
 his mastery of the arts to an order unseen by anyone else in this Age. And, of course, so that the next time &lt;br /&gt;
 he met Resplendant Obsidian Hound, she would be at his mercy to do as he wanted.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
