= The Stewards of Calibration =

Calibration is a time of confusion, recalculation, and balance; the stewards of Calibration are the chosen champions of that period, tasked with balancing forces, sowing chaos, and undermining traditions. In the First Age they were amidst the seats of government, turning traditions on their heads and evening out factions. They used their abilities to confuse predictions, layer debate, and remove certainties. The Usurpation was in many ways typical of Alignment, which thrives best in chaos, but the Calibration caste was itself spread to thin on the issue, each individual taking a side and being extinguished in the skirmishes that followed. Those that survived disappeared - Arcadian lore says that they tried and failed to use their abilities to shift the energy of the Contagion and Fair Folk invasions, to disastrous personal cost.

The Calibration caste are drawn from those whose natures abhor obvious answers and constance - lovers of disarray and enforced balance that typify the upheaval of the Calibration period. Those knaves whose scholarship includes deception, trickery, and whose tastes run to raising up the lowly and tripping the mighty are welcome members of the Caste, creating regions of unceasing fluctuation, carnival days and reversals. Their miracles realign forces, balance energies, and put the heavens into disarray. Their greatest flaw is this inability to focus or create - they must always be in flux. Their touch on things must be light; the madness must either be brief and cathartic or it will become entrenched and destructive.

Caste Mark: As the champions of Gaia, the Arcadians are not marked in the same fashion as most Celestial Exalts. The stewards of Calibration have had their Shards resting in Gaia's mind - as such their 'mark' is a shifting kaleidoscope of inconstant colors and patterns forming on the brow and spreading across the face and skull. Depending on the balance of Callings achieved by the Arcadian, the primary colors will be shades of green(Birth), red (Sowing), orange (Harvest), white (Burial), or indigo (Calibration). The more intense the Calling, the more prevalent the color, and the more potent the Arcadian's Essence, the more the pattern dances across the Arcadian's forehead.

Anima Banner: The Calibration banner is Alignment rampant in the world - an indigo miasma that darkens lights and illuminates shadows. As the anima approaches iconic, the chaos becomes more pronounced - at the iconic level, the eye waters at the distortion and even the ground seems uncertain.

Anima Effects: To be determined.

Granted Doctrines: Calibration was granted by the Mother the Doctrines of the Concealed Thoughts (Socialize), Lost Deeds (Investigation), Hidden Words (Occult), Unseen Deeds (Stealth), and Unknown Shores (Sail).

Associations: The element of Earth, the Central direction, eclipses, the Alignment calling, and the Great Curse.
