== Appearance ==

Maki is a cute young adult with medium length green hair she usually puts up in a sort of side spray on one side of her head; it looks rather silly, but she regards it as her 'signature'. She is not very physically tough, unusually for a Sacred Bodyguard, and thus looks rather flimsy. However, she's tougher than she looks. She usually wears either legal robes or her magical girl uniform.

She just has her status as a Sacred Bodyguard so far.

Maki is full of energy and throws herself into everything she does. She's always eager to try out new things and see new places. Indeed, most mistake her for an air or even a fire. She has the hard core of loyalty to her friends, however, of an Earth, and puts their interests ahead of her own, unusually for a Magical Girl of the Realm. She does not do so blindly, however; her keen brain often enables her to come up with a better way to advance their interests than they did.

She and [[/TepesKarin|Karin]] are close friends, though she worries about Karin's crush on Usui, which seems doomed. But if she can find a way to make them happy, she will.

Maki has become a smooth talker, thanks to her legal training, and will try to talk her way out of trouble when possible, or to sic the government on her enemies when she can. If that fails, she'll try to evoke her foe's compassion. But if worse comes to worse, she'll fight.

Maki grew up the daughter of a fairly average Magical Girl; her father was one of her mother's many lovers. Her mother pushed her to do her very best, and sent her to the best schools they could afford. Which at first, wasn't all that much. Her exaltation drew the notice, however, of some of the Gang elders, who backed her entrance into the Escher Academy. She became a very skilled, if novice lawyer, and now is used by her house to travel around and represent their interests.

She met Karin and Usui at their joint primary school, and she and Karin became fast friends. She keeps trying to recruit them to join her team and travel with her; given Karin's mother's interest in getting her daughter to go out and have some adventures, she may well succeed.

== Storyteller's Notes: ==

Maki is one of the rising stars of the Nebbish clan. Unlike most Nebbishes, she's very charismatic and probably cooler than the Elders who are sponsoring her. They have big plans for her, which will likely eventually lead her to the Senate. But right now, they're just testing her skills and limits.
