There are systems in place that define how creation works. Some of them are woven into the loom and guarded by gods, and there are some principles that predate the loom and its guardians. In the times before times, the primordials battled each other to define the numerological constants of the universe; and yet, their fates were defined by those constants. There were five times five primordials left at the end of the war, as there must be; there were five elements in creation, as there had to be; Thien To is inimical to the world as it upset that balance and its nature is defined as excess. Certain sages have understood how the world functions; they have discerned the functions of the numerologies of the world and applied them to various arts - and who are wiser sages than the sidereals, and what art would they apply them to but the martial arts?

This celestial level martial art is the result of years of study by a first age Sidereal whose name was lost in the breaking of the mask. He felt that the bow was a numerological device already, and so chose it as the form weapon; the purity of the one arrow, the division of the bow and the string, the balance of the three together, the twofold division that again results from the loss of the purity of the arrow's purpose when it takes flight. The form may be used only in armor without fatigue or mobility penalties. No charm in the tree functions in with a different weapon or in heavier armor.

The tree's mathematical nature requires lore at 2 for all pre-form charms, 3 for the forms and everything that follows.

The numerological purity of the individual is certain. He is one body; he is possessed of balance between higher soul, lower soul, and flesh; he is complete in the five extremities of his body. The body seeks to remain indivisible, numerologically pure, and the constants of the world support this. The exalt reduces post soak damage dice against him by 1.

Two Things Divided Technique

The exalt understands that an attack is the essence of division. The attacker and the attacked; the bow and the arrow, the weapon and the wound, and ideally the target falling to the ground in two. The exalt increases his post-soak damage by 2.

Balanced Forms Threefold

Type: Reflexive

Three is the number of balance; the triangle and the tripod, the sun, moon and stars, the hun, po, and body. The martial artist learns how to express that balance in his forms. An attacker loses 3 successes from their attack. However, there must be balance; they also gain 3 to their DV against the next attack to target them. The martial artist may affect either himself or someone attacking him in this way; it is balanced in either.

The Incomplete Form

The exalt takes the principle of incompletion into their heart. Four is the number that represents that concept, as it is the number of completion minus the number of purity. It is the four directions missing their center; the walls with no roof. It represents both a palpable lack, and a coming completion. This form charm makes the incompletion manifest. Whenever the martial artist is attacked or attacks, he makes the incomplete nature of the essence of his opponent evident. They must spend further to make their charms whole, adding the purity to produce completeness. Whenever an instant duration charm is used either to augment or create an attack or defense against the character, he may spend one mote per charm - the cost of the charm increases by 2.

The number five is the truest, most pure number in creation; it is, indeed, the number that defines creation. There are five elements in Gaia, and five Maidens to govern her fates; five castes and aspects, and likewise all actions that can be taken in the world can be split into abilities divided five by five. It is the senses that interpret the world, and all of the things in it. It is entirely auspicious.
Reduce the target number of the character's martial arts rolls by 1. Anyone attempting to strike the martial artist suffers an external penalty of 2, as the completed form resists damage.

The Excess in Things

There are five things required for completion. This is logical and true. Therefore, the sixth is an aberration, a failure of pattern that corrodes the six until there are again five. This was the nature of Thien To, the Vitriol beloved to Malfeas; the consumptive essence of the sixth. It is balance set on and multiplied by division and it is luck without purity. It is the castes of the fair folk, and it is the limbs of an insect. Six is alien and excessive. The martial artist channels the excess and corrosion of six into an attack, and it trails vitriol and chaos in its wake. Halve post-soak damage dice after all other effects, but convert those dice into successes.
