The Chain of the Faithful takes the form of a belt chain, designed to hold a book securely, while still allowing it to be brought to reading level if so desired. The chain is made of some metallic substance and seems to be permanently drenched in blood, which constantly drips from it to the ground below. Any book attached to it seems miraculously clean, the blood never so much as touching it.<br><br />
Whenever anyone becomes addicted to the chain it gains a link with their name inscribed upon it. It is the nature of the chain that no matter how many people become addicted to it, it always has the same number of links. Yet when a link needs to be found, it always can. By holding a name inscribed link and uttering the phrase, "The Law requires of you, a service." the addict can be summoned.
