== BRIEF HISTORY ==

Keiji is an orphan - his mother died birthing him and his father passed on ten years later in one of the many skirmishes of the time. Young but intelligent beyond his years, he retreated into desperation and ran away seeking an end to him pain.

When he returned almost a year later, most of his body excepting his face, and certain regions of his forearms and thighs, were covered in ebony tattoos in a forgotten language. The Intelligence Directorate first suspected that he might have sold himself to darker powers but concluded after a discrete observation of him that whatever he had attempted to do had failed.

This brought him and his talents to the attention of the General Staff however, and he soon found himself with a scholarship into the House of the Five Winds where he met Shin and Hiroshi.

Following graduation and being ear-marked for developing his potential as a stratego, he was seconded to the First Field Legion under Karal Linwei to allow him exposure to large-scale field conditions in a real combat environment.

In the Battle of Emerald Tears, Keiji's manipulations ensnared Vorash into accepting a duel against the apparently much weaker god-blood Hiroshi; however, he misread Hiroshi's strength and was beaten, though only barely.

== APPEARANCE ==

Keiji is a lean young man, slightly androgynous. He hides his tattoos self-consciously, a mark of his earlier failure to invoke occult powers; thus he prefers long-sleeved robes or full military dress whenever possible. He wears his jet-black hair short and slightly mussed, though longer than regular military standards, to maintain an illusion of regularity. His eyes are dark brown, but oddly mesmerising.
