There are many effects in Creation that can harm without physical damage, or that can scar the soul directly. An intimate knowledge of the ways of the spirit combined with the incandescent power of an ascendant Solar shard provides protection from such wounds. The Solar who uses this charm is immediately engulfed in a radiant bonfire of essence and his anima flares, responding as he brings his soul forth to be cleansed.

All negative effects that blot or mar the Exalted's soul are wiped clear. Madness and derangements are cured. Threads in the loom of fate shake at the unleashed might, and weak astrological effects may lose their grip. This cleansing doesn't automatically work on any curses or other effects laid by a being with higher Essence than the Exalt, but he becomes aware of such effects and may reflexively spend a point of permanent Willpower and immediately spend temporary Willpower to temporarily raise his Essence on a one-for-one basis until his Essence is equal to the task. His Essence returns to normal immediately the cleansing is done.

:Examples of negative effects are kind of tricky to think of, and are probably best left to the GMs discretion, bearing in mind that this is a 6/6 charm. I would suggest things like Shun the Smiling Lady, Maw of Venom (or whatever it's called) and other non-prayer-strip Sidereal charms, a lot of <nowiki>Solar/Abyssal</nowiki> 'fall in love with me or die' powers, Threefold Binding of the Heart, spirit curse charms, etc. etc. - [[Falcon]]

:D'oh, forgot to mention that. The Great Curse isn't affected by this charm, and the Exalt does not become aware of it. If you want a game explanation, it's because the GC is less a 'mark on the soul' than it is part of the Exalted essence shard itself. - [[Falcon]]
