By meditating for a day on a single specific topic, concept, thing, person or place, the Solar may compose a written or spoken work. At the end of this time, she may transmit this work in its original form to one or more other people. Thereafter, anyone who receives a copy and considers the work for any length of time may come to as full an understanding of the topic as the Solar has herself, for as long as the Solar commits Essence to this Charm. The recipient must roll Intelligence + Lore at a difficulty based on the length of the work: 1 for a short story or printed publication, 3 for a brief parable, 5 for a short sentence or proverb. Success indicates that she gains an understanding equal to the Solar's about the specific topic the sutra was composed for. Knowledge gained from such contemplation is the subject's own; anyone who came to understand the work before the Solar withdrew Essence from the Charm does not automatically forget what they learned.

This Charm does not provide a general understanding of an Ability or of some fairly broadly-scoped topic (such as "First Age magic"). The Solar may convey information only about a narrow, singular topic, such as "the character of Lord Darkon" or "Lake Vostok, where relics of the First Age are said to be held". The Solar need only keep Essence committed for each sutra she composes, no matter how many people receive copies of it. The sutra itself conveys no convictions or persuasiveness; it merely acts as a vehicle for information. Recipients must choose how much of this knowledge to believe, and the Solar may not convey deliberately distorted impressions unless she herself truly believes them.
