Resembling an oversize crow with a toothed beak the Ration is a scavenger and carrion eater over most of creation. The main exceptions being some parts of the west as the birds cannot survive long in the water and the coldest parts of the north and hottest parts of the south, where they find little carrion to sustain them and their coal black plumage serves them ill. <br />
