=== Background ===

First developed by studying the oceans and the action of waves, Tide Dragon Style centers around flowing, repetitive motions which allow the martial artist to deflect, redirect and dissipate attacks direct against them. The soft, hypnotic stances and movements of the style can lull an opponent into closing on the 'weak' fighter where they find themselves trapped in a deadly riptide. Lean bodies and dancer's grace are hallmarks of masters of the Tide Dragon Style. This style is especially popular amongst Water Aspects native to the Western shores of the Isle and to Lookshy.

Tide Dragon Style has no signature weapons, it is used unarmed.

Foe-Snaring Seine
Cost: 1 mote per 2 dice
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Min MA: 2
Min Essence: 2
Prerequisites: None

Wrapping his opponent in a web of water drawn from Essence or his surroundings, a Tide Dragon Stylist can throw his opponents off balance and draw them into the line of his attack. Each mote used on this Charm adds 2 dice to a martial arts attack made by the Exalted. No more motes then the character's Martial Arts trait can be expended on this Charm and the target of the attack must be in range of a hand-to-hand attack for this Charm to work at all.

Pushing Against Waves
Cost: 1 mote per increase
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Min MA: 2
Min Essence: 2
Prerequisites: None

Tide Dragon Stylists are hard to strike even when unmoving for they can lash their attacker with walls of water summoned from nothing, shoving them off balance and out of alignment. Each mote used to power this Charm increases the difficulty of a hand-to-hand attack against the martial artist by 1. No more motes can be used on this Charm then the character has dots of Martial Arts.

Cost: 2 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Min MA: 3
Min Essence: 2
Prerequisites: Pushing Against Waves

Adept as Tide Dragons are at avoiding attacks they are equally skilled at diverting them away. Using this technique a Tide Dragon reaches out with a hardened tentacle of water and guides a foe's strike away from vital areas. The character may add his Dodge rating to a single hand-to-hand Martial Arts defense.

Prerequisites: Foe-Snaring Seine, Tidal Influence Defense

The smooth, repetitive motions of Tide Dragon Form emulate the serenity and constant nature of water's flows. While maintaining the Tide Dragon Form the martial artist treats all Lethal damage done against him as Bashing and doubles his movement rate. When taking the same action that he took on his last turn, the martial artist adds his Essence in dice to that action. This bonus is not cumulative.

Gathering Glaciers Defense
Cost: 2 motes, + 1 motes per turn maintained
Duration: Special
Type: Simple
Min MA: 4
Min Essence: 3
Prerequisites: Tide Dragon Form

Each time an opponent strikes an adept of the Tide Dragon they take a risk. Using this Charm the character can attach icy restraints to the joints of his attackers. As the attacker continues his assault, each strike allows the martial artist to add more ice to the restraints. Each attack made against the martial artist while this Charm is active imposes a 1 die penalty to all future strikes the attacker launches. This penalty is cumulative. After activation Offensive Erosion Method can be maintained by expending 1 mote at the begining of the turn. This does not count as the character's Charm for the turn and does not require an action.

Prerequisites: Tide Dragon Form

Creating shields of ice and water around himself an adept of the Tide Dragon can deflect his opponent's blows onto the shields. When defending himself from an attack a Tide Dragon Stylist adds 1 to both his Bashing and Lethal Soak for each success on his defense roll.

Cost: 5 motes
Duration: Instant
Type: Supplemental
Min MA: 4
Min Essence: 3
Prerequisites: Ice Shielding Blow, Gathering Glaciers Defense

Gathering a sphere of icy water around his fists or feet a Tide Dragon master can shield himself not only with his body but with the power and strength of water. Each success rolled on a hand-to-hand defense attempt removes two successes from the attack instead of one. If this technique is used, only one defense can be applied against the attack.

Cost: 10 motes, 1 willpower
Duration: Instant
Type: Reflexive
Min MA: 5
Min Essence: 4
Prerequisites: Shielding Wave Technique

Catching his opponent's attack in a conjured mass of frigid water a Tide Dragon master can attempt to wrestle control of the strike away and turn the force of it to his own use. This Charm can be activated only in response to successfully defending against an attack. When used it allows the martial artist to turn the attack back upon the attacker, forcing the attacker to defend against his own attack exactly as it was launched against the Tide Dragon. This includes all effects and Charms that were enchaning the attack.
