A great monument in the center of the Northern most of the four great cities of the Dragon Kings, of which Rathess is the only one still widely known. The city, mentioned in records scavenged from Rathess, is called [[/Keldredes]]. Those same records are the only source of information on the Avardan and portray it as a great mass of ice or perhaps diamond that stands over 200 feet tall and 50 feet across. Supposedly the Avardan contains an object of great importance, referred to as [[/theEffort|the Effort]]. All research points to the Avardan and its lost home being located in the most distant reaches of the North, possibly near Diamond Hearth.
