For a Solar Exalt, Shirin is worryingly normal-looking; brown eyes that are warm but not particularly entrancing, wavy brown hair that is well-kept but not perfectly so. Her skin is fairly tanned, and she has a fair amount of curves; enough to merit a second glance from most, but not the full-on adoration that some of her more beautiful brethren might garner. Well able to blend in when needed, she nevertheless prefers to have a fair amount of attention on herself; not being at the center of things, but certainly the focus of a small group.

Generally, she is enjoyable company, with a certain indirect charm, and a drawl to her voice that can make almost any statement amusing. She likes jokes, and enjoys having people laugh with her, and almost always has one ready for any given occasion. Likewise, she can easily turn her biting tongue on her foes, enraging or deflating them as needed.

She typically wears a fairly tough white shirt, sleeves cut off at the shoulder, with metal bracers covering her forearms to protect against Ruby's heat. Her pants are also made from a similar cloth, but she mostly covers these with brown canvas chaps for a tiny bit of extra armor. Sturdy but fairly light boots, a belt filled with firedust shells, and a broad-brimmed hat finish off her outfit, and she usually has a heavy pack and a large, wrapped package with her too, both sitting on her back.

Though she has been tempted to steal more, Shirin is smart enough to realize that being in posession of an abundance of magical items is much more likely to mark her as more than mortal than it is to help her, and thus, she has limited herself to the only two items she needs. The first is a simple orichalcum breastplate (as simple as anything made from orichalcum can be, in any case), made in two pieces that fit together so perfectly as to seem one. Typically, she uses it to line her pack, only bringing it out when combat is expected and stealth is un-needed (in other words, a last Resort). Shirin doesn't actually have any idea where the breastplate came from; it was lying beneath her bed when she awoke after her night in the astrology archives.

The second item she does know the origin of, however, seeing as it was pretty much forced on her. An over-zealous Gem merchant followed her for hours, bewailing the fate of his dozen children if she didn't buy the cloth-wrapped bundle, and given that he looked to continue this tirade outside her window whilst she slept, she did eventually accept. He may have had his money delivered in a most unorthodox and improbable fashion, but Shirin was nice enough to include the medical fees, so it all works out.

The item turned out to be a rather masterfully crafted firewand, made from red jade and pure black iron, with a tri-barrel design that makes reloading much less of a problem. Much too heavy for any mortal warrior, it is usually useless for practical firing, but with a small application of Essence it became as light as a feather. A flame-throwing feather. Flicking a switch on the side starts heating the jade plates that adorn it; outwardly, they are warm to the touch, but inside the barrel a veritable inferno brews. She keeps the gun wrapped in the same black cloth it came in, using the weapon only when Resort is also called for. It is called Ruby, after the almost gem-like plates of red jade.

(Ruby has enhanced stats compared to a normal firewand, and any checks for knockback it inflicts are at +2 difficulty. It has a commitment cost of 3 motes. Resort is a plain orichalcum breastplate.)
