Basically, they're Vikings, yah?

One people, five clans, each numbering perhaps three or four thousand total (a thousand good warriors), for a total of twenty thousand displaced people. They have been driven from the fringes of the Wyld to the present coast over the last hundred years by a variety of misfortunes and the constant enmity of a god. They call themselves the Svear.

The Clans
* The Njar: Ashkaru (Air-aspected DB). By tradition, the Njar are descended from a Dragon-blooded woman who fled the Great Contagion by plunging into the Wyld, and in so doing brought the Svear to safety. The Njar are the oldest family.
* The Halden: God-blooded descended from Suhel, the Svear's god of the Day.
* The Bram: God-blooded descended from Mehlnsot, goddess of the Night.
* The Ketilbiorn: The funerists. Heads of the local ancestor cult
* The Gulla: Fae-blooded. Outsiders.

Currently, the tribe is led by a council composed of each clan's patriarch (or matriarch) until the gods see fit to grant them a king again; the last king was slain by the Bull of the North's forces.
