== Haku ==

Ebon skinned god blooded son of the Northern Auroras. Haku was gifted to SapphireHeart at the age of 2 as part of a deal between his mother and Heart in which his mother obtained a large cache of memory crystals from supplies located in the the fortress.

Haku has spent his time since in Hearts service, and tends to view Heart as a distant father figure. Heart in return treats Haku as something akin to the favoured child of a friend, one to be admired, given encouraging words and advice, but left to others to care for. Haku has spent nearly his entire life in the fortress, shared only by himself and Sapphire Heart. Given Hearts indifference in regards to day to day necesities for survival, in his younger years, Heart relied on the goodwill of others to survive, generally from Heartsblood families seeking to curry his future good will.

Haku has found himself in the unique position of being a powerful figure in the city, whilst having no real power of his own. Haku does not have a title or a position within the city as such, but what he does have is the closest relationship with Sapphire Heart of anyone in the city, and certainly much closer than any of Hearts actual kin. This position means that Haku's requests and suggestions are often carried out as if they were requests from Heart himself, though given that he has no mandate as such, he sometimes finds himself ignored out of hand should the person he is dealing with not believe the matter will warrant Hearts interest if raised with him. As a general rule, the Heartsblood dislike Haku as they see him as having stolen their dues, but they also seek to curry his goodwill, so generally refrain from making their aversion for him public.

Haku, for all his importance in the city, tends to lack the social skills needed to perform the role he finds himself in, and also lacks the disposition to let him acquire these skills. He stays with the role out of a fondness for Heart, and having known no other life
