Some Occult charms use a '''warding''' roll. This is a Charisma+Occult persuade action that can be enhanced by non-Excellency Presence charms, and cannot be resisted by spending Willpower unless the spirit has a higher Essence than the Solar. If successful, it has effects dependent on the Charm that triggered it. Warding rolls replace the roll to bind a demon summoned by sorcery.

The Solar may spend a point of Willpower when activating Spirit-Detecting Glance to be able to perceive flows of Essence. They may make a reflexive Intelligence+Occult roll (difficulty equal to the effect’s minimum Essence) to identify the nature of any unMuted Charm or sorcerous effect (including ones that are still being shaped).

===Keen Unnatural Eye===
