=== SHOGUNATE DRAGON-BLOOD CHARACTER CREATION ===

The following system models Dragon-Blooded who are part of the Balmori Republic, Chiaroscuro, Deheleshan, or Pangu.

Step 1: Aspect: Choose any of the Dragon-Blood aspects from the Dragon-Blooded core book.

NATURE: Choose any from the corebook.

ATTRIBUTES: Primary 7, Secondary 6, Tertiary 4, as normal.

ABILITIES: Dragon-Bloods choose three (3) favoured Abilities, in addition to five caste abilities, and spend 12 points in these eight abilities. They then spend 23 points in any ability. Abilities remain limited to 3 pts, unless bonus points are spent.

Shogunate Dragon-Bloods replace the normal nation requirements with the following (and almost always speak Shogunate as their default language):

Balmori Republic: Archery or Thrown 1, Martial Arts or Melee 1, Buerocracy 1, Lore 2, Linguistics (First Age), Occult 2, Performance 1, Presence 1, Socialize 1

Chirascuro: Archery or Thrown 1, Martial Arts or Melee 1, Buerocracy 2, Lore 2, Occult 1, Performance 1, Presence 1, Socialize 2

Deheleshen: Archery 2, Martial Arts 2, Bureaucracy 1, Lore 2, Melee 2, Occult 1, Presence 1, Ride 1, War 1

Pangu: Archery 1, Martial Arts 1, Lore 2, Linguistics (First Age), Melee 1, Occult 2, Performance 1, Presence 2

BACKGROUNDS: Shogunate Dragon-Bloods have a well-established network of contacts. As such, they get 12 background points.

Shogunate Dragon-Bloods choose their Backgrounds from the following Steel and Glass list: Allies, Arsenal, Artifact, Backing, Breeding, Connections, Familiars, Followers, Henchmen, Library, Manse, Mentor, Reputation, Resources, and Spies.

Shogunate Dragon-Bloods have easy access to both artifacts and manses. As such, the first time either Artifact or Manse is purchased, it provides a number of smaller artifacts / manses up to a total rating equal to the rating of the primary Artifact (so, Artifact 3 provides a 3 dot Artifact and 3 dots worth of smaller artifacts). Unless the Background is at 1, no secondary artifacts may be as strong as the primary artifact.

VIRTUES: Dragon-Bloods begin play with 5 dots of Virtues. No Virtue may be bought above 3 dots without spending bonus points.

CHARMS: Dragon-Bloods begin play with 7 Charms. Immaculate Monks receive 6 Charms, two of which must be initiation Charms, one of which must be an ordinary Dragon-Blooded Charm, and the rest of which may be either Immaculate or normal Charms.

WILLPOWER AND ESSENCE: As normal for Dragon-Bloods.

BONUS POINTS: Dragon-Bloods receive 15 bonus points as normal, and spend them as per the chart in the Dragon-Blooded core rulebook.

=== OUTCASTE DRAGON-BLOOD CHARACTER CREATION ===

This covers normal Dragon-Blooded from Rathess and the Western League, as well as those from the minor kingdoms.

Step 1: Aspect: Choose any of the Dragon-Blood aspects from the Dragon-Blooded core book.

NATURE: Choose any from the corebook.

ATTRIBUTES: Primary 7, Secondary 6, Tertiary 4, as normal.

ABILITIES: Dragon-Bloods choose three (3) favoured Abilities, in addition to five caste abilities, and spend 12 points in these abilities (rather than 10). They then spend 18 points in any ability. Abilities remain limited to 3 pts, unless bonus points are spent.

BACKGROUNDS: Outcaste Dragon-Bloods get 7 background points.

Shogunate Dragon-Bloods choose their Backgrounds from the following Steel and Glass list: Allies, Artifact, Backing, Breeding, Command, Contacts, Familiar, Followers, Influence, Library, Henchmen, Manse, Mentor, Reputation, Resources, and Spies. However, being outside the Shogunate, they must spend 2 bonus points for their third and fourth dots of Breeding, and 3 bonus points for their fifth dot.

VIRTUES: Dragon-Bloods begin play with 5 dots of Virtues. No Virtue may be bought above 3 dots without spending bonus points.

CHARMS: Non-shogunate Dragon-Blooded begin play with 7 Charms. Those with a Mentor at Level 3+ may begin play with 6 Charms, two of which may be Initiation Charms and one of which each must be a normal Dragon-Blooded Charm and a Celestial Martial Arts Charm.

WILLPOWER AND ESSENCE: As normal for Dragon-Bloods.

BONUS POINTS: Dragon-Bloods receive 15 bonus points as normal, and spend them as per the chart in the Manual of Exalted Power: The Dragon-Blooded.
