As a child, she traveled with her father from island to island and listened while he told stories of the wondrous deeds of ancient heroes of the sun. The local volcano demanded sacrifice, and the storyteller was chosen. Inspired by his tales of heroism, Duala rescued him and was Exalted in the process. Duala urged her father to flee the islands with him, but he decided to go into hiding. He told her to come back one day with new stories, to give the people something to live for once more.<br></ins></div></td></tr>
