History:

Emerald Grace grew up under the tutelage of her father, Emerald Flare. Flare was the sort of man who commanded the attention of everyone in the room; he was blindingly handsome and amazingly skilled with what he did. Grace idolized him beyond reason, and literally lived to please him-- wishing someday to be just like her father. Flare's effortless panache and magnetic personality made him perfect for the upper-class hobnobbing that was required, and he also had the business skill to back up his incredible talent in his chosen profession, and all of this was not lost on Grace, who tried her best to absorb every ounce of her father's knowledge and charm. She never knew her mother, and when she would venture to ask, her father would get a wistful look on his face and say, "She had beauty that would stop your breath, and she gave me you. Other than that, what does it matter?"

His love of beauty both inspired Grace to take up her father's trade and to ensure that she would not be a blemish on the face of this beautiful world. She spent many long days running and doing gymnastics, ensuring that her youthful limberness would never leave her; her father, knowing that her fitness was important to her, would import the tea Young Monkey from Halta to ensure her dexterity and limberness. There was nothing Flare would not do for the sake of his daughter's happiness.

Grace's father died a year ago, after being trampled by a horse. It completely changed her personality, taking her from the happy, emotionally stable "daddy's girl" to a cold, quiet woman, full of sorrow. She believes that nothing in this world lasts except for beauty, and the impressions that beauty makes upon the mind. There is still the faint air of magnetism and vitality around her that existed before Flare's death, but it is muted and fleeting.
