:'''''Essence Capacitor:''''' The spear has a dimly glowing gem set in its haft, storing 20 motes that can only be used to power the other features of the weapon. The only way to recharge the crystal is for a being with an essence pool to touch the jewel and spend 2 motes per mote restored. Recharging is a simple action. Additionally anyone carrying a skirmish pike in extended mode with an essence capacitor can spend 1 mote to make the crystal spike glow as brightly as a torch for one scene.
