I was astonished that the players wanted to seek him out so badly, but moreso that they were trying to restore him to sanity and capture him alive. I guess they really thought he was sympathetic in the 2e Core. He gave them a surprising amount of trouble. In the course of this campaign, I found that it was very difficult to balance Celestial level antagonists against DBs. Too heavy and full of perfects, and they'd crush the opposition. Too light, and they were chow against a bunch of 150 XP DBs. Avaku was a high level DB with some impressive charms (courtesy AB: Fire) and I wasn't afraid to cause a TPK by using them. He was a tough foe up until the point they basically ran him out of Essence. That's always when things go bad for a DB.</i></del></div></td><td colspan="2"> </td></tr>
