These small sticks of enchanted Elemental Wood enable one to strike a <br />
small fire, no larger than a small candle-flame, by striking the end <br />
against a rough surface like a match. However, the wooden stick is <br />
imperishable, and can be struck an infinite number of times. In the <br />
First Age, these little trinkets could be bought by the dozen on <br />
every streetcorner, and were considered household staples. Even in <br />
the Second Age, they are common enough that even mortals may purchase <br />
them (Cost: Resources 3), if the price is right. Making flame splinters is simple, if <br />
tedious work, and is often used as punishment for inattentive <br />
students at the Heptagram.<br />
