History 
Quiet River has had a hard life. The hardship of growing up in a city weakened by failed wars. Harsh tribute demanded by the Realm. Then the Mask came and took Thorns and yet she and her family survived and lived though it was hard. Her parents joined the Thorngaurd to try to protect her and themselves from becoming Soulsteel. While on an escort mission, leading some diplomats of Winters' to obtain the allegiance of a small village near to his own and bordering with the Marukani the Solar known as Andrix fell upon the small group. In the fierce battle with the group he left the mortals broken upon the ground though still alive while the Abyssal escaped from his wrath.

He did what he could for them but in the end there was simply too many. He took some with him and left to travel to the very village this group had been heading towards. Quiet River's parents were left behind as he took some on the 2 day journey to the city. Her parents were not great hero's or chosen or even godblooded. Abandoned and crippled as they were death took them but it was not clean or swift. Their ghosts were swift to return to Thorns and tell their child of what had happened. In her rage she talked her way to the court of the Mask of Winter's himself and begged him to give her the power to avenge her family. While the Mask did not do so the Unconquered Sun seemed to respond to the woman's passion and she exalted as she made her case to the Deathlord. Perhaps even swayed by her words he bid his servants to give her some items he had in possession, gave her a bit of advice and let the Solar leave his court. It did not matter the outcome. To him there was only one final result. Either she or Andrix would die and to pit the priests of the Sun against each other so pleased him.
