New page

* Grace steps into the shop, and is immediately intregued by some of the designs. She looks about for the famed artisan.

<ST_Mod> You enter the store and you find a small shop, no pieces immediently out on display though. A singular woman, wrapped head to toe in concealing silks sits in a large oppulant chair. "Yes? You seek something crafted?"

* Grace shakes her head. "Not precisely." She glances around the surprising sparse place. "For the most renowned jewelry shop in Nexus, you seem to be low on jewelry." Grace's tone is not unkind, merely curious.

<ST_Mod> "I craft to order now, I dont need things in stock any more. My reputation is established."

<Grace> "Oh." Grace looks a bit disappointed. "I'm a jeweler of sorts myself, and I was hoping I could see some of your work. I've never seen the work of a fey; a friend of mine is a changeling, and while she is lovely, she prefers wearing my work to learning the craft." She chuckles.

<ST_Mod> "I craft my gems from bits of the Wyld within Firewander, getting unique one of a kind works each time. I do have one piece that is waiting to be picked up." She opens a small box, about the size of your hand, and within is lies a thumb sized gem. You honestly don't know what kind of gem is is, but the cut is magnificent.

<Grace> "The geometry of the facets is incredible." Grace's usually icy demeanor cracks a little with emotion. "I haven't seen work like this since my father.." She glances up. "Do you craft these gems already faceted, or do you cut them after?"

<ST_Mod> "I cut them after drawing the raw material from the Wyld and the desires of my customer. It is their emotion, personified in a gem you recognize that touches you so."

* Grace swallows thickly, the desire to possess a gem of that beauty welling up within her. "How much do you charge for such a gem?"

<ST_Mod> "It varies from customer to customer. From some I accept gifts, others a task, some I require a taste from."

<Grace> "And what would you require from me?"

<ST_Mod> The head turns softly to regard you. "What can you offer?"

* Grace reaches into her knapsack and pulls out a folio-- not the one of jewelry she was willing to sell, but the one of her best pieces, which she shows to showcase her work. "I don't know if you would like any of these finished pieces, but I made these myself. And I could set your gems in some of the most beautiful metalworking you have ever dreamed of-- things that could turn your masterworks into eternal epics." She tilts her head. "

<ST_Mod> She reaches out a hand and takes the folio, looking over the pieces slowly. "Hmm...these are quite nice. Perhaps we could come to an arrangement."

* Grace smiles brightly, for the first time in many months. "I'm very glad to hear that.. Er, I never found out your name."

<ST_Mod> "Hmm...a fair deal would be I give you a gem, and you work as hard as you can to craft a necklace for me. Fair?"

* Grace nods. "That is quite fair, thank you."

<ST_Mod> You think she might be smiling under her silks. "Come here in one week with your work done. We shall trade then."

<Grace> "All right. Thank you again." Grace leaves, half-dazed by the meeting, but determined to craft something more beautiful than she has ever been able to create before.
