New page

= The Guide to Writing Artifacts for Stupid People =
*by [[Telgar]]

No, this isn't about writing Artifacts for use by stupid people. It's a down, dirty, disgusing and hateful system for creating Artifacts if you're just flat bad at it. I do not use the system that I will construct and demonstrate here. I will never use it for anything but examples in here. I hate it. I'm writing it half as a huge example of what not to ever do. But some people may actually like it. Someone might use it! I hope not. I'd rather people used my OTHER Artifact Creation Guidelines. They're nice and happy. This is the evil cheating way of hideousness. So, ya know, be aware of that.

=== Artifact Points by Level ===

Each dot in the Artifact Background that an item costs provides a certain number of points which may be distrubted amongst things like stats for weapons and armor or abilities. Artifacts don't have to use all their alloted points, but it's generally a good idea to do so.

* Level 1 - 50 points
* Level 2 - 100 points
* Level 3 - 200 points
* Level 4 - 500 points
* Level 5 - 1000 points

=== Spending Points on Stats ===

*Stats
**Accuracy - costs 5 stat points
**Damage - costs 3 stat points
**Speed - costs 3 stat points
**Rate - costs 2 stat points
**Defense - costs 4 stat points
**Soak - costs 2 stat points for Bashing or Lethal, must be bought seperately
**Fatigue - each Fatigue penalty adds 1 stat point
**Mobility - each Mobility penalty adds 2 stat points
**Hardness - costs 2 stat points, may never exceed the lowest soak score of whatever it applies to.
*Powers
**Dice-Adding - costs 5 points for combat abilities, 3 for non-combat
**Penalty Removal - costs 4 points per removal
**Charms - Charms have a point cost of their combined Trait Mimimums, plus 1 per pre-requisite Charm
**Spells - Spells have a point cost equal to their Circle (1, 2 or 3) times 100
**Motes - The ability to hold or generate 1 mote costs 5 points
**Stat Increases
***Attributes - 30 points
***Abilities - 15 points
***Virtues - 20 points
***Willpower - 50 points
***Essence - 400 points
**Other - Special, as defined by ST and Player.

=== Spending Points on Tags ===

Tags are qualities in an Artifact that give it some special, pre-determined power. Wooo.

*Piercing
*Holy
*Poisonous
*Strike Immaterial
*View Immaterial
*Magic Resistant
*Magic Vulnerability
*Elemental Resistance
*Elemental Vulnerability
*Life Eating
*Underworld Forged
