= Artifact Daiklaves =
This is a small page for a specific type of artifact weapon, in this particular case -- swords, or Daiklaves as they're called in Exalted! All non-legendary artifact Daiklaves that I make will go on this particular subpage, in full detail, regardless of level or badassitude (unless the page gets too big, in which case I'll further subdivide).

=== Glass Daiklave ===
the Glass Daiklave is not uncommon in Chiaroscuro, where it is a favored weapon of Dragon-Blooded Outcastes, God-Blooded, and other favored children of the city of glass. It is even occasionally used by Dynasts there, and a few examples have travelled back to the Blessed Isle over the years. The oldest examples of these weapons are primarily made with Orichalcum, but many more have been constructed since the First Age with the use of Jade (primarily Blue, or White).

Long beautiful crystalline weapons that catch and refract light, they are nearly as beautiful to look upon as they are to wield in combat, and are commonly regarded as delicate works. The age of one's daiklave, however, is obvious to guess by it's appearance -- First Age Daiklaves are made of unblemished and perfect glass, while Second Age Daiklaves frequently display imperfections and hair-line cracks in the glass. These do little to impune the strength of the weapon, or it's beauty, however and many craftsmen have turned the crafting of flawed but strong glass into an art-form.

Other Powers of the Glass Daiklave
* Glimmering Blade. Any parry pool while in direct sunlight against a Glass Daiklave suffers a -1 penality, due to the glare caused by the light through the glass surfaces of the blade. This penality is negated indoors or during the night.
* Beacon. Any Exalt may spend a mote and focus their anima through the blade, causing it to glow strongly in the appropriate shade of light. This amplifies and empowers the light, allowing the Exalt's anima to shed light over twice as large an area. This power also allows the Glimmering Blade ability to be used during the night. This glow lasts for a scene.
* Fragile Any disarm roll that recieves more than five successes may, at the Storyteller's discretion, cause the blade to shatter. Dodge rolls remove successes for this purposes, as do stunted parry rolls. The shards of the blade have the following statistics: Speed +4, Accuracy +0, Damage +4L, Defense -1, Rate 3. Such blades can be repaired with effort, if broken. This only applies to blades forged during the Second Age.

=== Reaper Daiklave (Revised) ===
the Reaper Daiklave has been produced in all five of the magical materials (Blue Jade is favored). This blade is exceptionally well-balanced, and favored by Exalts that value finesse and speed more than raw killing power. The blade is especially common among the Dragon-Blooded families of Lookshy, especially the blademasters of Gens Toriki.

Other Powers of the Reaper Daiklave
* Elegantly Crafted. Reaper Daiklaves are among the most beautiful and elegant of all daiklaves, with graceful lines and perfect balance. Only crafted by the truly skilled among artificers, their creation is a work of art. While fighting a Reaper Daiklave is not difficult, actually bringing oneself to harm the blade is quite stressful on certain souls. Anyone seeking to break a Reaper Daiklave must fail a Compassion roll to do so (or spend a willpower, as normal for a virtue roll). Reaper Daiklaves have a difficulty to craft one higher than other daiklaves of their type.
* Careful Balance. Reaper Daiklaves are perfectly balanced, and expertly forged -- among the best blades in Creation. The wielder of a Reaper Daiklave may ignore a single botched Melee roll once per session, treating the roll as a failure instead.
